That OG Playstation powerup sound had oomph. They never topped it, imo. Though it was anxiety inducing when as a child I was trying to sneak in game time after my parents had gone to sleep.

PS1* and PS2 had strong music. It became a lot more muted after that.

They got it so right the first time then it was just downhill from there.

I still have both consoles. Still works. My wife and I play once in a while.

I have my sound muted but still heard that PS1 logo sound so loud in my head I had the urge to turn the volume down on the old twist-knob tv I used to play on.
