Post promoting PieFed gets 100 upvotes in r/europe
  • I know it doesn't but the original commenter that you were quoting obviously doesn't understand how Lemmy works and is equating the action of the devs and their moderation to the whole of Lemmy, that's why I used the word implies.

I'm not saying your point is wrong more pointing out that it is a bad thing that the lack of knowledge on how Lemmy works and operates between instances means that people who don't know presume that it applies for the entirety of Lemmy.

  • New Vegas quest mod recommendations
  • I recently did my first full play through that actually stuck (I started maybe 5 times over the years and got bored prior to this play through) using the mod pack Viva New Vegas.

I chose that because it seemed like it offered a vanilla + experience and I have to say it was great throughout. I didn't experience any crashes, it included things like the Fallout 4 style of seeing what is in containers without opening them and generally it was a good time.

Maybe have a look and see if it fits your needs :)

  • The UK punk duo who chanted "Death to the IDF" at Glastonbury festival are facing concert cancellations. Event organizers feel the pressure to deplatform the "high risk" protest group.
  • "Event organisers" put on a punk band and then are surprised when they do something controversial? Dumb, spineless cunts.

So glad my tax money is funding the filth that are wasting time "investigating" shit like this and arresting people that protest a genocide and support Palestine Action. Fuck the police and fuck this shitty country.

Smaller rally/racing games I recommend you try!
  • Thanks for this post, there are some good racing games out there for sure, however I can't recommend JDM at all.

I played the demo early last year and have been eagerly awaiting the release this year. They pushed back the release date from March this year to improve things further which I thought was a good sign but ultimately once it has landed it is just not enjoyable. The car and modification selections are great as are the visuals but the handling model is just fucking shite. I tried playing it for around 5 hours and it is just not enjoyable to actually play.

Another one worth checking out is the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer game. This is more a highway racer that is still in EA, the gameplay loop is OK although it can get a bit boring for me personally and it definitely needs some improvements in the handling and physics as well as the balance but it is still in active development and I will keep an eye on it.

Also good is Nightrunners. This is also a highway racing game but made by one dev. It is stylised to look like a late 90s vhs and the modification options are fucking amazing. Again this is still in development but is definitely worth a look if you like JDM cars!

  • Too cool for school
  • Going back over your text message trying to trim it down as much as possible because you were a few characters over a single text limit and like fuck you were using a whole additional text message from your allowance for the sake of a few characters.

  • What book(s) are you reading right now and recommend for others?
  • I will definitely start Wheel of Time one of these days but yeh, I'm pretty committed to this right now. I will definitely be finishing it too, don't you worry, even this many books in I'm still loving it and looking forward to each following book :D

  • I attempted to cross Norway in a straight line! | Magnus Midtbø [41:32]
  • And not one mention of GeoWizard in the entire video, for shame. Magnus takes a more extreme approach scaling rock faces and the like but it isn't really a straight line mission in same sense, he isn't trying to cross the whole country like the video title suggests.

Tom (GeoWizard) is more enjoyable to watch IMO, he did Norway 4 years ago and uses a GPS trying to actually stick to a straight line using a Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze award system based on deviation from the line.

If you like the Magnus video I strongly suggest checking out GeoWizards straight line videos.

  • What book(s) are you reading right now and recommend for others?
  • Haha I appreciate the advice and I used to be the same feeling I had to finish things I started but as I have got older I do drop games and books etc if I am really not enjoying them and it has made things a lot more enjoyable.

It is more because I am currently into the Deathlands series of books. It is currently 155 books long and I'm at 89, whilst I do have a break from it here and there to listen to other books I don't want to start another series of books just now :D

  • What book(s) are you reading right now and recommend for others?
  • Wheel of Time is on my to do list, I've heard a lot about it both being great and hard to get into to begin with and so I keep putting it off. I will get around to it at some point.

Enjoy your journey into Sanderson, I'm a little jealous I can't go on those journeys again for the first time!
