"my project", "my project two", "new project", "branch of my project", "my project returns", "my project forever", "my project reloaded", "my project revolutions", "my project is dead" "my project 2" <--- the tenth installment of my project
I've finally started naming shit year-month-day-project-name.V.XX.ext and it's been WOOOOO much better...turns out, when I think, I'll remember why I named it this way, I'm always lying.
My desktop has a folder called “crap” where when my desktop starts to look cluttered I drag everything into a new folder then put that into the crap folder.
Going through the crap folder is like digging through sedimentary layers of dead shortcuts.lnk and .txt files to get a glimse of the past
I have something similar: a "garbage" folder in my downloads folder, and when I tire of the clutter I put all of it, including "garbage", into a new "garbage" folder. It's garbage all the way down.
I clean up my filesystem when I should be doing work so that everything is organised when I I start working an hour before it's due. This way I only have to deal with an hour of panicked mess.
Autism: "I need structure and planning in order to function"
ADHD: "Yeah okay let's bring some structure and... wait did we respond to that message from yesterday? Oh look we still need to wash the dishes, let's grab... oh what's this plate doing here, let's put it back. Wait what were we doing again?"
I just name folders with numbers and call searching for files in them (that are not named either) future me's problem. Knowing they're there somewhere is good enough.
