Attorney General Pam Bondi has said the Department of Justice will seek a 20-year prison sentence for a man accused of throwing a firebomb at a Tesla dealership.
Bondi said Monday that Cooper Jo Frederick, who is accused of attacking a Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado, on March 7, would face federal charges.
It's weird how upset the hard right gets over property damage. They got very upset over their made-up "fact" that "whole cities were burnt to the ground" by BLM/antifa.
But it's okay to plan and scheme for, then carry out, a terrorist event at the Capitol to overturn a free and fair election, and possibly lynch the VP and any other politicians that they didn't like and could get their grubby little hands on. I do notice that property damage that is part of the government seems to get an exception, too.
This the stupidest step they could take. Seriously if you’re going to get 20 years for throwing a firebomb. Well, in for a penny - in for a pound, you might as well … I can’t make any suggestions after all, but let your mind wander and I’m sure you can think of something a lot worse that’s still only going to get you 20 years.
While I agree that arson is wrong and should be illegal, it wasn't a federal crime last time I checked. This should be handled by the state attorney general in the state where it happened.
It's the "conservatism has one rule: there must be in-groups for the law to protect but not bind, and outgroups for the law to bind but not protect" thing.
