"Nah." Pretty lame moment, honestly. Big let down IMO, because the rest of the game was fantastic.
Hopefully they went in and fixed some of the jank, because oh boy is the original janky. Also hopefully they kept multiplayer functionality.
Not sure on the art style, it seems like a kinda lazy half-implementation of PBR lighting but the art style seems to clash being a bit on the cartoonier side. Gives everything a turbo plastic look.
It looks... fine I guess. For me at least it's just a little disappointing as I missed out on System Shock 1&2 back in the day, and I heard such good things about the SS1 remake. So I was really looking forward to the SS2 being remade with similar quality, since that is the one out of the two people tend to wax lyrical about.
The thing about remakes though is they can lose what made the original good. So while someone who never played the original might really like the remake, a die-hard that's always liked the original may feel kind of betrayed by the remake.
I never played SS1, so the remake was something new for me and I liked it. But I grew up with and revere SS2 as being one of the best games ever made. So I'm almost kind of glad this is just a remaster and not a remake.
