I wouldn’t trust Boston too much. We were supposedly good to the homeless and fought for equality but the city is still racist and sexist mess. Not to mention the mayor just introduced measures to effectively criminalize being homeless and to ship them out of the city for appearances. Most young people are good allies to the trans community and we have gems like Jacques cabaret but anything coming from Boston government i wouldn’t trust to be long term :(

- As a queer Bostonian born and raised - while there is massive racism and sexism Boston has also traditionally (with one big exception) supported strong counterculture movements and stood up to oppression. Pretty much every ethicnic group has oppressed and been oppressed by every other one and the city exists in a strange balance of mutual loathing that is somehow quite supportive.
  
  Sure but I think it’s important to separate the government of the city of Boston from the people who live here. My point was that Government signaling something doesn’t mean much and could be very temporary.
  
  What's the big exception?
- I was gonna say. Be careful with any sort of clustering like this. It can bring people together and help build resistance which is good, but it also makes it easier to target them once the government takeover is finished and they start trying to go after people to lock em up. Its a lose lose situation so i really dont know whats best here.
