My trick is to tell myself there is no commitment, that I could read/listen for just 5-10mins and say it’s enough and get back to other stimulating routine. It works cause:
It does make it easier to start next time.
You don’t have that guilty procrastination feeling about it.
Half the time, it gets interesting, so you end up reading/listening for or much longer.
Audiobooks are the secret technique.
Audiobooks don't work for me. It becomes background noise.
Ebooks on my phone from the library has reduced friction a lot for me. Don't even have to get off the couch.
100% ive learnt way more things, just by listening on my commute. Saves the good ol eyes.
I keep my ereader by my bed and my phone in the other room, so procrastinating getting out of bed is my reading time.
