Like... In my opinion, a hole is when it does not go through, and when it does, it becomes a tunnel. A straw is a tunnel. A hole in a piece of paper is a tunnel. A bowl is a hole.

Holes don't exist. It describes a location that lacks the material surrounding it. Kind of like coldness is lack of heat or darkness is lack of light. Cold and dark aren't actual things in the universe.
