Microsoft finally officially confirms it's killing Windows Control Panel sometime soon
After mulling over it for close to 14 years, it seems Microsoft is finally ready to kill off the Windows Control Panel soon. An official confirmation has been posted on its website.
How? So many settings are thinly dressed up GUI of older components.
It's been over 10 years and they still haven't put half of the things in the Windows 7 and earlier style of the Sounds menu in the Settings App. 10 freaking years, Microsoft.

We're killing Control Panel soon.
You mean you'll have migrated all those options into a cohesive and complete settings app, right?

At some point they will prevent us from having root access to windows. Maybe we will have to beg copilot to do things, maybe it will be enterprise licence only. And most people will not care because pc is just facebook machine to them.
there's probably going to be third party tools to replace it.
Who wants to start a pool on when they decide to gut WIN+R?
