Depends on what stone you turn into. Slate or lime maybe. Granate or marble, no way.
They never did clarify, did they. I bet it's marble. Would explain why there's so many marble statues from that era (in a more fun way than reality, anyway!)

The fact that so many of them are naked suggests they all thought Medusa was DTF
