I’ve seen this before but don’t accept it myself. There are cases where you just wanted to cat. In this case, maybe to review the problem. Then you want to extend the command. Preserving it in the next commands where you start stacking on pipes is useful since it can be fewer strokes and maintain a habit.
Arc works perfectly for my workflow. Using Firefox since Netscape days, but arc is really good. Don’t love that it is chromium and not open, but the ux is incredible. And air traffic control is such a nice feature.
I suspect because this being what has happened in “most sex segregated sports” is a very very bold assertion. In which of those sports are women holding top positions? I mean women athletes are awesome, but the idea that separation happens because the poor men can’t keep up is just… I don’t know, maybe I’m a confused old man.
But I thought it was so that women could compete at the top levels of their sport in sports where their times, weights, etc. are not really proximal. They should of course be combined where the physical implications are negligible, but the idea that what’s preventing that is that the men just can’t compete with the women seems strange to me.
But is there some support for that?
Exited? Or were you just a youngin at the time?
I’m not looking for paraphrasing. I’m looking for specificity. What did I say that you are taking issue with? Do you believe the site never had any issues with troubling content in the past, because even according to them they did. It seems to me you are arguing they have done a good job dealing with that more recently, which is not in dispute by me.
I don't what I'm defelcting from. I'm here trying to identify with which part of my comments you disagree, and you don't seem to be able to identify it now that you've been asked to say something specific rather that just schoolyard bullshit, "rolling my eyes" and such. I have also been, I believe, nice and clear. I'm happy to have a discussion about something specific, if you're able to say something of value.
Right? So can’t identify the statement that wasn’t true? Got it.
Which part?
The person to which I was responding said:
yeah I believe everything the government says through the media too.
I'm not saying you accused me of the same. I don't know what credibility I need, nor do I fully understand how I lost it. I am happy to hear the person you know had a good experience, truly, and I hope that is the case for most.
What did I say that was dumb? I said “until a few years ago”, and that is true. And I have firsthand experience with the trouble they wouldn’t go through to deal with it. To imply that I’m just choking down what the government is selling is simply not reasonable.
You know you could easily say some dumb shit like that to somebody whose daughter wound up fighting a long time to remove herself from the site. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Until a few years ago, when they finally stopped allowing unmoderated, user uploaded content they had a ton a very problematic videos. And they were roasted about it in public for years. Including by many who were the unconsenting, sometimes underage subjects of these videos, and they did nothing. Good that they finally did, but they trained users for years that it was a place to find that content.
Measuring in grams to the tenth won’t get you kcals to the hundredth. More importantly, kcals per gram isn’t even close to that precision in labeling. I hear you though. I measure to the tenth but I recognize the precision for what it is and move on. I realize you’re dealing with tough struggles though. Sorry about that. I’m just talking precision.
People who cook steaks welldone deserve the stockades. But only mushrooms can be thrown at them.
How does a microwave make things taste worse? It just adds energy. Popcorn tastes neither better nor worse; it just pops pretty well depending on the microwave.
God damn right. My peanut butter has a shelf life of about 5 days. I’m happy to dispose of it into me.
Is that a John Locker?
Trump and fascism does not represent the GOP.
It is up to the GOP to show this, not everybody else to act like it’s true.
Pray they don’t alter them any further… or we’ll all end up riding a unicycle in a pink dress.
I don’t disagree. I’m just saying the distribution of workload has an impact on what looks a good idea or too hard.
Today is a big day for OpenTofu! After four months of work, we're releasing the first stable release of OpenTofu, a community-driven open source fork of Terraform. OpenTofu, a Linux Foundation project, is now production-ready. It’s a drop-in replacement for Terraform, and you can easily migrate to i...

I am especially interested in the initial migrations into the Americas 15,000+ years ago, but our community is small and my interests large, so... any great documentaries are welcome.

Please, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, allow us to disable this chapter skipping feature (the one where tapping left or right to bring up the scrubber, then double tapping the other direction because 100% of people want to skip that direction some unit time - 10 seconds by default). This ends up feeling random and is just vexing.
It is the worst feature added to any software, maybe ever in the history of computing. How many hours are wasted trying to figure out where one was in this video? How much power and network bandwidth is consumed fighting this feature that I’ve not seen a single comment online of anybody benefitting from ever.
This feature is adding to human suffering by wasting energy and damaging people psychologically. Go please, look online, and consider castigating the creator of this feature in the public square. And then take a good hard look at yourself for not stopping this evil from ever being added in the first place.
Yours aye, Sane People
There are currently several applications available for iOS to access Lemmy instances. Each of which has its own benefits and drawbacks. I love Voyager (or wefwef as I still like to call it), but even the installed app is I believe just a repackaged PWA. So I’ve been looking at alternatives that vary from PWA to native Swift implementations. The list I’ve checked out so far are.
- Avelon
- Bean
- Mlem
- Memmy
- Voyager / vger.app
I know Lemma is forthcoming, also.
I’m wondering what others current preferences are including values like price, license, governance, and features.
It feels to me like the days before Apollo arose where there were many great Reddit apps, but none that stood head and shoulders above the rest. Does anybody feel there is an app shining to that degree yet as Apollo did once it hit the scene?
