Wonderful, thank you!
Absolutely love the report. But this headline is slightly misleading:
Shutdown of Lemmy and opportunity for PieFed
Should have read "Shutdown of lemm.ee" instead.
Anyways, I'm happy that PieFed gains some traction and publicity.
I'm talking about !polls@piefed.social. I opened it from feddit.org and from discuss.tchncs.de. Both are empty.
It doesn't make sense to post it there, since it's completely empty when viewed from Lemmy. Lemmy doesn't support polls yet, thus doesn't display poll posts.
Thanks. Yeah, I hope so too.
I've created !polls@piefed.social. Normally I would go to the big community promo communities on Lemmy and promote it there. But, since this is a polls community and Lemmy doesn't support polls yet, the community is completely empty when viewed from Lemmy.
I don't really know where else I could go to tell people that this community exists. I hope it's okay to post it here.
Not a community, but new people on Mastodon use the hashtag #newhere to introduce themselves or ask newbie questions. I don't know if that could be integrated into a Piefed/Lemmy community or if it would create too much noise.
It seems there are new features in PieFed every day. Great work!
Hi. I'm using Interstellar with PieFed and can't figure out where my bookmarks are saved to. Are they hidden behind a setting somewhere?
Nice. I didn't know that. Do we have a polls community yet? That's a feature I've been missing ever since leaving Reddit for Lemmy.
I already looked into other instances, but so far none satisfy my criteria: EU hosted, open to registration, admins that I know/trust. That's why I'm thinking about self hosting.
I really like it. But I keep opting for Lemmy because of Voyager. It's just too convenient. Piefed's mobile UI is okay though. I could get used to it.
But, I don't want to settle on piefed.social. I usually avoid the big main instances. Thinking about selfhosting it, but haven't decided on a hoster yet.
I just discovered that the default Lemmy UI doesn't have this setting either. But it's available in Voyager for Lemmy.
It would be nice to be able to set the default comment sort (Hot, Top, New) in settings. A dropdown similar to the post sort setting would be ideal.
