FWIW I didn't bother unlocking the S9, I just use Shizuku when apps need elevated permission to do things and it's worked out fairly well so far. I don't have to play the cat and mouse integrity spoofing game anymore or wrangle manually flashing updates with a laptop so that's nice. Totally up to you what you're going for, I don't need lsposed for anything critical right now so elevated perms is enough for my purposes.
If the Samsung Galaxy tab line isn't out of your price range that's what I'd go for. They're the gold standard as far as android tablets go. I had a good run with my tab s6 (2019 to this year) and I'm pretty happy with the refurb tab s9 I bought to replace it.
Snapdragon 8 gen 2 (tab s9) will absolutely crush any emulation or android gaming workload you throw at it.
I think a refurb or lightly used s9 with the s pen is around $350ish on fleaBay these days. I bought mine for $400 last year but didn't switch over to it until recently.
Same exact fit problems here with mine. I ended up sizing up a half size in the end and slapped kilties on them to take up some of the excess volume. They're alright, I really wanted to love them but the fit is just a little off even after some months of wear.
