Google Was Set to Host An Israeli Military Conference. When We Asked About It, The Event Disappeared.
  • Oh, they paid her legal fees? How nice!

Of course, that doesn't fucking matter when she was put in prison for five years.

  • The Internet Archive’s Fight to Save Itself
  • And I am of the opinion that spreading access to knowledge is vastly more important than copyright laws made decades before the internet was a thing. Especially when is comes to US copyright laws being forced upon the rest of the world.

Breaking the law is not how you change copyright laws. Ironically, AI is the best way to crack copyright laws like an egg, but everybody seems to be vehemently opposed to it.

  • The Internet Archive’s Fight to Save Itself
  • Not sure why this is getting downvoted. It's completely accurate.

They pushed this "digital library" idea to even beyond their own definition, got punished for it, and now they are at-risk of losing their core function. Corporations and alt-right shills would love to get rid of any trace of accountability, and this is one avenue that calls them out on the bad shit they post online.

  • So tenacious that they'll leak their sources and put them in prison.

  • Three Jersey City ‘cannabis cops’ are reinstated, but not allowed to carry their guns
  • Cannabis is in the process of being rescheduled out of Schedule I by the DEA, currently in a mandatory 60 day public comment period. So if that were completed already, this wouldn’t even be an issue now.

I'm surprised this isn't larger news.

  • Ubisoft's Board is Launching an Investigation Into The Company Struggles
  • Well, it also doesn't help how much they are "accidentally" insulting multiple racial groups trying to make an Assassins' Creed game.

  • The US regime just executed another innocent black man.
  • People get elected based on your vote, or your lack of vote. That's how representative democracies work.

  • NIST proposes barring some of the most nonsensical password rules
  • NIST SP 800-63b already did that several years ago. People just need to follow it.

  • Top 5 Features Coming to GIMP 3.0
  • Depends on the context. We're talking about an image editor, so showing a demo of the features in video form is helpful.

  • The US regime just executed another innocent black man.
  • And this is why you fail, and you fail the rest of us.

  • The state of TV and movie media.

  • The votes of about 355 legislators and the signature of Joe Biden could end this today; it’s the stroke of a pen, and they simply don’t do it.

And 269 of those legislators are Republicans, most of which are uncaring sociopathic individuals who were voted in by a party of spiteful, hateful, racist voters.

The best way to change that situation is to vote. Don't bitch about it. Vote.

This case went before the SCOTUS requesting an emergency block, where it was voted against 6–3. The SCOTUS had the power to trivially prevent this and decided not to.

Wow... 6-3, I wonder where I've heard that split before? Oh, right, it's the same SCOTUS split that has been going on ever since Trump put three immoral and corruptible judges unto the Supreme Court, voted in by Republicans in the Senate, who were in turn, voted in by Republicans.

The best way to change that situation is to vote. Don't bitch about it. Vote.

The majority of US states (27) as well as the federal government have state-sanctioned murder on the books as a legal criminal punishment. 12 states and the federal government have carried it out in the last 10 years.

And most of those states are red states... you know, the states filled to the brim with Republicans.

Are you starting to see a pattern here?

  • [Red Letter Media] What Are Next?!
  • A well-crafted, strongly humanist anthology series doesn’t really seem like the kind of thing that would ever get greenlit these days.

Well, it would be greenlit, made, not advertised, and then cancelled after one season for terrible writing.

  • Off meds due to shortage, making dumb memes to cope
  • These are Jem'Hadar, not Tamarians. The Jem'Hadar are dependent on a drug called ketracel-white, only given to them by their Vorta overseers.

So, it makes sense they would be depicted in an ADHD meme.

    Microsoft Ruined Windows

Microsoft is ruining Windows. It just keeps getting worse. Whether it be their insistence on AI and cloud garbage, or just a general sense of incompetence, I can’t help but feel like the operating system has seen better days.

Normally I wouldn’t care too much, big tech ruins another thing, whatever.

But the problem is Microsoft has such a dominant market share that you can’t really escape them.

I guess unless you use a Mac or something I don’t know.
