When I don’t have a password autogen something for me, I am still using a variant of my original autogenerated geocities password from my days on the SunsetStrip. I’ve just buttressed it with additional letters and numbers as password requirements have changed.

We have so much overlap in our gaming habits that the occasional time you played a game I wasn’t familiar with it signified a pretty good chance I’d enjoy it, and that’s borne out so far.

I saw their post earlier today and have been thinking about it off and on since then. This feels like a really big moment for Lemmy. Having watched the updates for a year and now seeing this best-of post… I don’t know how to articulate it but it feels like a real milestone for our whole community.

Either way, many congrats to @MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world, and thanks for the great 1 year post. I really enjoyed it.

It is darkly funny, on multiple levels, that thus far the best impediment to the Mechanazis is their own dumb fucking incompetence.

We also already have multiple stories of people believing that God is literally speaking to them through chatGPT. I was raised young earth creationist and it is easy for me to slip back into that mindset and imagine that of course Adonai could choose to speak to me directly through chatGPT. He who has ears to hear, let him hear, and shit.

The worst part of this is that evangelical Christians in particular are just mentally primed to be manipulated by AI.
