  • I laughed the first time I heard a MAGAt talking about how bad Biden was at speaking. I seriously thought they were joking, because Trump's word salad is far worse than any stutter Biden ever uttered.

...they were not joking. They seriously believe Trump is some great orator.

  • One of our cats had a serious medical issue (we think a tick bit her, but we don't know for sure), and after she recovered, she attacked her own tail one night. Woke up the next morning to find blood all over the house. Poor kitty ended up having part of her tail docked. :(

  • This is basically why I didn't participate in the fandom for many years. Tired of hearing how bad this is or whatever. And this goes back to Next Gen, too. I found I enjoyed Star Trek more without everyone else's opinions.

It's a lot like this. (Thanks to The Oatmeal for putting it so well.)

  • Just to follow up on this, that Ridenow tube has a pinhole leak in it. Never ridden, so I'm guessing defective from the factory. I used one of their adhesive patches, so far it's holding air.

I'll check the rim to make sure there isn't something that caused it, but the butyl tubes are holding air fine, so it seems likely to be an issue with this tube.

  • I've had a few flats with tpu tubes, some of which were likely caused by installation error (accidentally twisting them).

I've broken a few of the plastic valves as well (Spingo brand), but I think that was because my pump had was failing and not sealing, and I thought the issue was the valve, not the pump. So user error there, too.

I bought some Ride Now tubes more recently. Of those, 3 of the 4 I bought have been fine. The fourth one isn't holding air, but I haven't had the time to figure out why. Just swapped to another tube to get the bike on the road. I like that the Ridenow tubes include patches.

Short version, my experience is that once they're in and working, they tend to be good for a long time. Gotta be more careful installing them. Overall, I do like them.

  • For legitimate reasons, I deposit large amounts of cash into a business account a few times each year. I report my social security info each time, and I've never once been contacted about it.

Just move it at once. Don't do the structuring thing that was explained elsewhere. Or do a wire transfer.

  • We keep one of our cat carriers out because one of our cats likes to curl up in it.

We had to take another cat to the vet a few weeks ago, so I went to grab it... Nope, occupied, with the wrong cat. Rather than deal with that, I just got a different carrier.

  • We have two that are getting up there in age. They're both active, but the signs are there. One has irritable bowel syndrome and asthma is on medication for both. His black fur has faded in some spots, too - not much, but there are definitely spots that are a bit more brown in his legs.

The other seems healthy, but his urine had some protein and there is a slightly elevated number in his bloodwork for his liver (I think). The vet isn't sure what those mean yet, and they want him to get an ultrasound (they just told us yesterday, and we haven't had the chance to schedule it yet).

It's possible he also has IBS, which would at least mean we're used to dealing with it. He's already eating the right food.

Odds are good we have years with them yet, but it's a sign they're getting older, and a reminder that some day they'll be gone. :(
