Yeah I also planning to get rid of my alts since I never remember to check their notifications... You can use your lemmings account to moderate, no problem!

You don't necessarily need to make a new account! In the next lemmy API update cross-instance moderation issues should be fixed. Unless you want to of course, you are also welcome on sopuli :)

Please check the original post though, I didn't realize cross-posts via lemmy-ui don't update when I edit the original. We ended up deleting some communities for example.

Jos se haittaa niin voit myös toki luoda uuden yhteisön oikealla osoite-nimellä ja voidaan keskustella tuon Translator yhteisön poistamisesta / uudelleenohjataan käyttäjät tuosta yhteisöstä sinun yhteisöösi. Kuulostaa siltä että sinä olisitkin sitten just sopiva moderoimaan molempia yhteisöjä :)

I'm bit sceptical about moving a community to a really really small instance as you never know about those staying up and upkept. New users are really on the edge about that stuff when a community disappears. But I'm fine with it if you can sort it out with mods and they agree!

We already added a redirect post to those communities that people in the comments mentioned:

I've been using voyager for so long I didn't realize cross-posts don't update on web lemmy-ui when you update the original post. We already have deleted quite a few of those communities listed above and added redirects to some that users have mentioned in the original post!

You are right, most of those communities were created by a single user who disppeared shortly after.

We mentioned in the post that community locking and redirection post is something we will do for communities that don't find s moderator and when there is a clear alternative (if no clear alternative we will point to a community that is closest topic-wise.

Others also mentioned that some communities are just completely empty and could be just deleted, so we started deleting some of those!

Thanks for offering moderation help, I'll ping you of some of our active communities that lack moderators if no one else steps up (unless you got some clear interests you'd like to moderate for sure - let me know).
