  • That's awesome. Sadly, in my own opinion, it doesn't reach far enough. If you get the privilege of representing the law and get to use your authority over other people, then committing crimes in that position should come with much greater consequences. If you are a trained professional, then your crimes should carry a much greater weight.

  • Isn't it awesome that state authorities that get to enjoy more privileges because they pledged an oath to serve the people get to resign when caught doing something highly illegal and can decide what to do from that point on without fear of criminal prosecution?

    It's either socialism or barbarism, as Rosa Luxemburg put it.

    The less sustainable this economic model becomes, especially now that the overexploited nations of the Global South start emancipating themselves and the fruits of imperialism become fewer and fewer, the more state mandated violence will have to be exerted upon us by the capitalist class to keep us from organizing against them.

    There will be no retirement plans for most of us. We will die working. Those that will refuse to work themselves to death will be criminalized or slowly killed by the powers that be (existing as homeless is already virtually illegal). Those that are caught living in illegality will be put in prisons and will be loaned out to companies as prison labour (already legal in the US).

    That is if we don't die in another Great War just to resuscitate the powers of the empire over the Global South.

    The working class pays local taxes to fund the police and the fire department. The 1% make money by operating on a business model that relies on these taxpayer funded services to unfuck their product out of fucked situations. Thus the taxpayers unwillingly subsidize the 1% with their tax money. As such, the taxpayer funded services degrade because the fire department/police department have to babysit a private company's products instead of attending to business they're actually paid to do.
