Exactly. Why is our govt not even doing a squeak about Netanyahu directing the Israeli military to take control of 70 percent of Gaza’s territory, significantly expanding beyond the terms of the October 2025 'ceasefire' agreement. This will force 2.2 million people in Gaza into less than a third of the original territory. Under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces had withdrawn to a demarcation line known as the yellow line that left them controlling roughly 53 percent of Gaza (CNN). They don't respect any agreement and our govt (and othrs) continue saying nothing but platitudes and comments that don't actually have any value. As you say, pathetic.

I see it differently. Even one thousand dollars, let alone 20 billion, which is the ballpark for expenditure on NASA for example, spent wisely, would help disadvantaged people as well as nature. Even though it is a small part of the overall US budget, it's still a lot of money.

I am not against funding NASA, not at all, but the billionaires who spend money on rockets for space tourists and the like, annoy me no end.

Thanks for saying that. I wouldn't have made fun otherwise. I'd have just been livid.

Perhaps one petition may not, but if there are enough people signing it tells the politicians this issue has traction with voters (otherwise they wouldn't have done even the small reforms they've done so far). If we let them know we haven't forgotten and keep at them, more is likely to happen.
