  • The NSW govt supports parts (let me emphasise 'parts') of a community which sends money to help a country overseas whose army is involved in a hateful, violent genocide and that is perfectly ok but 'rhetoric', peaceful rhetoric at that, is wrong. This is sick.

  • The new changes lock in youth rates for those aged eighteen and under. The percentage of the adult wage that eighteen-, nineteen-, and twenty-year-olds receive will increase each year. These rates will reach parity with the adult rates in 2029, 2028, and 2027, respectively. The catch, however, is that these increases and eventual parity only apply to young people who have worked at the same employer for more than six months. This caveat is ripe for exploitation.

I did not know about the caveat. Yes, young people will be further exploited. This is so wrong.

  • Agreed. Perhaps not the only solution but certainly an important one. Along with food forests is having them and smaller scale food growing initiatives closer to populations and having those populations involved. How to get industrial agriculture to change their poisonous, profit-driven model?

  • From my understanding a nuclear power station would take 8-10 years to get up while costing an enormous amount, especially now that transport, materials, etc, etc, will cost a lot more with the current supply situation. So, for those reasons it is not a viable way to go.

  • The problem with this threat to our tt farmers is that it is based on giving lab rats a large amount of tea tree oil to drink if you read the article! People do not drink tea tree so the basis for the risk seen by the EU is very dubious.

  • The problem with this threat to our tt farmers is that it is based on giving lab rats a large amount of tea tree oil to drink if you red the article! People do not drink tea tree so the basis for the risk seen by the EU is ridiculous. Tea Tree oil is brilliant and has been used for thousands of years by Aboriginal people, let alone the rest of us in it essential oil form.

  • Welfare advocacy organisations are asking for an increase in income support because unemployment is expected to rise as well the cost of just about everything else. We've always got money for military weaponry (for Australia's protection) but not so the people can eat and have a roof over their heads? Feeding and housing the population is the first priority I'd have thought, of any government particularly in a rich country like ours. • It's important to be informed about what is happening so that we can hold our politicians accountable in advance and ask them "What are you going to do about this? How are you going to help the most vulnerable? When are you going to take such measures?
