As for your politics, I would've been happy if ya'll would've given Warren a chance. She's pretty normal in the grand scheme of things. She's wealthy, sure, but she didn't come from money.

Not because, but it does help things progress faster. In many cases several different firms or even individual inventors worked on the same problem and came up with several different solutions. They were able to do this because of governmental contracts asking for that solution and tended to get materials, ammunition etc.
Not only firearms or related stuff either. The groups who worked on things like breaking the enigma or the Manhattan project were large with many small but important breakthroughs from many different people.
The thing they all have in common is that they worked under immense pressure due to the war effort.

For me it's more like ..I can't see a 7 or an 8 but I don't have a problem with taking 2 from the 7 and "holding" the remaining 5 in my memory while I add up 8 + 2.
On the other hand if someone asks about what an apple is I can tell them they come in red or green varieties but ask me to draw one and it'll be the ugliest apple ever put on paper. Meanwhile I can draw just fine if I have a model in front of me.

I can't see anything but I can still hold numbers (again, up to a point) in my head without any kind of problem. It's not a memory impairment in any way, at least not for me. Then again there's not that much research into it so I'm genuinely curious about your experience as well.
What does not being able to see inner images have to do with math?
I'm asking because I can't see shit but I have no problems with doing math up to a certain point. Not in any way good at it but it doesn't impair my memory to the point it would be a hindrance either.
Even if it wasn't for all the other instances already mentioned, there were quite a few muslim combat interpreters that fought with the US troops in Afghanistan etc. only to be left behind and they sure as fuck got killed.
Whatever the darker spots at the end of the gravel are is one of the only standouts that's a real photo. Also realistic weathering to this degree is hard to do.
There are some of us with no inner vision who do enjoy reading too though, you know?

I love to read though. All day long if I can. Also in the top 0.1% when it comes to reading speed. Guess why? Nothing wrong with my comprehension either.
