  • Okay first of all what the fuck is a TP0? I swear you guys just make those people up and they're lazier and lazier written each time.

Second, what's the point here? Like, is either of the tweets making a point? Cause it just sounds like someone discovered why universal healthcare is a good idea? The fact that spending is so unequal is quite literally the entire point in favour of having universal insurance?

    Also

1% is responsible for 24% of medical expenses

Now do how much of the population gets 24% of the income :)

  • Invasion as a Service proponents

  • anyway it doesn’t have a hacker in a balaclava with a watermark and load-bearing jpeg fry

    genAI will not replace us

  • Unfortunately the Joe Rogan case study shows that the answer is probably quite a bit more.

  • Nick Land (...) “techno-optimism”

His thing is literally called DARK ENLIGHTENMENT, fucking Final Fantasy villain level of grandiose menacing naming, how on earth would that be "optimism".

Marcee do you even like know who your idols are?

  • Oh my fucking god I know that video

this is the entire pitch of genAI, this is beat for beat a perfect analysis 4 years before all of this bullshit actually happened

  • Has someone tried generating a train running at the camera and seeing if one of the AI bros dies of a heart attack?

  • Okay but this is about alkaline water so it's garbage even without the genAI imagery.

It's even by Wu et al., come on, low hanging fruit

  • These are people I know in person, not online

Okay, yeah, that sucks then :/

I haven't had such an earnest, full-belly laugh in a while, thank you for this. 10/10, I wouldn't have written a better sketch if I tried.

  • am i missing something?

    Yes.

  • standardise staff members’ smiles

Completely normal and chill thing to want

  • But do they have a scheduled weekly email with a list of tests that are known to be broken and allowed to fail in CI that then has to be manually checked against the test run report before merging? LIKE MICROSOFT DOES FOR AT LEAST ONE MISSION CRITICAL SERVICE I WORKED ON?

  • Ye that's why I'm asking, cause even RationalWiki doesn't have a chapter on abuse or anything.

  • I'd expect the current interest rates make it a less viable strategy.

Also, money is fake but I'd expect there's a limit to just how many billions you can burn before you can't get away with it.

  • Kinda checks out? 2022 is around the time it became clear the admin was clueless about what makes SO actually a valuable research, and then genAI was the perfect spark to go full rot.

  • It's on one side with Bitcoin and Ethereum, even if you didn't know about Brave before, seeing it there would immediatelly throw it into the bin compartment of your brain.

  • Microsoft is to blame for allowing these fucktards kernel-level access.

    This is a backwards take.

The only way to have actual security is for the entire kernel to be completely open source. Microsoft is too blame for not giving everyone kernel-level access.

  • and they’re absolutely terrified of making any changes that might mildly inconvenience enterprise customers

Correction, they don't think about such changes at all. There are no other concerns than those of big-paying customers, and even then you need a bunch of big enterprise customers request something for the thing to even end up being considered for the backlog.
