I think it's one feature missing from all the text-based websites. I do not watch videos at all. I use text-based media because I cannot interact with else than text and images. It would further improve the speed at which you load the website and improve content quality for all the other people who do not interact with video content. By adding this we'd set a much higher experience standard for users.
Odyssee I tried them ages ago and stopped, because of the crypto stuff and lack of content interesting to me. I quit YouTube a while ago so I'll give them another try. :)
I prefer Signal to Whatsapp. IDC about Whatsapp having my data. The point is choosing the app which most suits your needs and wants.
I doubt the people who already commented will read that, but if you live in another country than the people you contact, you have to pay extra for calls and SMS. That's the sole reason I use Whatsapp. I cannot afford not to. The only people I've ever met who don't use it are some Asians who use some Kakao app instead.
I can load an entire website with videos and then load videos in 720p, but I cannot load my inbox with one notification. It should be a miniscule amount of data. I was wondering how the data downloads are being parted. Unread and All seem to be separate based on the loading icon, but are they also separate in regards to downloading them? Is the inbox being partially cached or not? Do pages get downloaded separately or do you pre-download other pages?
Either way, I feel like a way to counter it may be if users were given the option to disable downloading media unless clicked on. Maybe add an option to disable avatars too. I've seen some users having animated avatars and I wonder how much of a download that causes for me. I mainly use Lemmy on the go so on mobile Internet and I won't lie, it's been a struggle at times.
I think a more adequate solution would be giving all voters a break down of party promises before they make a vote, with some outside organization designated for providing mandatory checks on the party's previous promises and whether/how they delivered them.

I needed to buy cutlery since I've moved into an apartment with nothing in it. All stores had were multipack sets of expensive cutlery. A tripack of just knives or just forks or just spoons cost 7 euros! 7! So I ordered a set of just a fork, a knife and two spoons of varifying sizes. And, of course, I ordered them in gold. I'm glad you're speaking up. This isn't a black and white situation. Sometimes I'd travel by plane to a surgery or from one, was already in a lot of pain and sensitive and having a child scream through it all gave me panic attacks. When I'm on my best, I don't mind but I'm disheartened by the absolute disregard people attacking those who speak up against children on planes have towards people with misophonia, whatever it may be induced by. Idk where those people get noise canceling earphones and earplugs to have the noise of children screaming non stop next to you be blocked by them.

Good, but the people who spread those can make up more shit and rig perceptive with votes. It's highly uncomfortable that such an opinion arised in the first place and didn't warrant much response from their own community, even had a positive vote ratio and AFAIK they do have downbears.
I was kicked out of rentals multiple times for being visibly queer. I was scared out of some more by people who even moved after me, but made my life a living hell just for being queer. I was driven into near daily crying during highschool by my peers and sometimes even teachers. I was regularly spat on in public with no reaction from other people. I had a car full of tank top wearing men stop with the intention of beating me up when I was in middle school because they thought I looked too much like a "f*g". To see people, some of whom apparently so privileged they don't even experience systematic queerphobia as per own admission, claim us here aren't queer is so hurtful because it feels like it dismisses my entire lifetime of queer pain. Your wealth or lack there of has no meaning unless there's people to perpetrate the capitalist cycle. Less people means less people without established capital. If your new people amount is lower than the dying out people amount you get empty housing which you therefore cannot pretend to have more value than it does. Furthermore, aging capitalists need a work force to take care of them. Humans live longer and longer, especially the rich. Without surplus of workforce it's hard to staff these positions. And so on and so on.

Lemmy isn't an advertiser oriented platform. It's a discussion platform. I strictly believe default sorting by new comments and most comments being improved is absolutely necessary. I would go as far as to suggest making sorting by new comments the default and most comments (last 24h) the default for sorting feed. I believe that would tremendously improve the user experience AND engagement because they'd have more stuff to engage with. Sure, there's an argument to be made about burrying less active threads, however, the users who won't see those threads I believe to be the users who'd just scroll past them anyway.
I think the "brand" name was La Rive and it's essentially the cheapest perfume you can get. They had "His Passion", a purple bottle of joy. It smelled SO gay. But I haven't seen it in years. Whenever I go to a new Rossmann I try to find it... To no avail. I want to make myself smell gay again. All unisex perfume is lemon and I'm allergic, all men's smell like unwashed clothes and women's section is too big and too on the nose for me for most of the time, at least before I run out of arm space to test stuff on. :c
I'm speaking of the thingy which made Threads not get released in EU due to its link to Instagram. Does it mean all services will be forced to allow users to only use chosen service without up selling like Google does for example? Will Messenger be forced not to require a Facebook login? Will Google no longer be able go require a Google login to play store? I cannot find anything (search engines got shittier so it might be why) and I thirst for this knowledge.
I have my first non shared apartment. I want to gayify it. I have a small magnet of a mostly nude man I'll put on the oven but I was thinking more. I don't want holes from nails. I wanted fairy lights but I cannot think of a way to hang them without nails. I don't think tape can hold the ones with bigger lights. :( I'm open to suggestions!

Mine had the door painted over. Including the peephole. You cannot open the clap because of the thick layer of paint.
Also, they didn't check if the shower is working. It wasn't.

They had me move in today so I believed they were done with the renovation. They weren't. The ancient toilet and sink are still in which will be replaced on Monday. I don't get why they couldn't let me move in after all was done.

The deep drawer shelf you put under an oven is on the top counters. I don't even see inside. Neither does anyone else, the crew who installed it forgot their food from it.
There's no normal drawer for cutlery.
There's a hole in the wall from ventilation for the mini kitchen which they didn't patch up.
They didn't clean the apartment.
The lightbulbs are just hanging from the ceiling with power cabled visible. Including in the bathroom.
And there's probably more but it's just this one apartment. I cannot wait for them to be done with all so I can gayify my place. My first time living alone. :) I have far worse stories from previous rentals but I want to hear yours!
The owners of the flat bought it and renovated most of it for rent. They didn't check the shower. It doesn't work. 🫠 They told me if they cannot fix it today they'll reduce my rent to which I said IDC I want to shower. I'm so sweaty from lifting everything. 🫠

I am very anti-family, yada yada, but due to adoptions and migrations in my family, I'm not sure who I am ethnically. Ethnicity doesn't matter, but I wonder how much migration there was in the people who kindly donated their DNA to create me, a person who's lived in multiple countries (escaping homelessness, not the rich way). I'm doing the DNA test to run it through all databases I can for doctors, but apparently there's also databases for ancestry. I have no ethnical or national identity, but I'll be happy to use this to have a response to people asking where I'm from without having to explain too much. It would be cool to learn something unexpected, but I expect the most expected. I hope the results come before my doctor visit. ^ ^'
