Hmm, we need someone who's a little paranoid and has problems with authority... but I can't think of a perfect fit.

I will! I loved the prequels and think they improved upon the music, choreography, and world-building of the originals. I also think Hayden Christiansen did a great job portraying a moody, arrogant teen who was too strong for his own good, and much of the criticism about his performance was unfair because he was supposed to be irrational.

Seems like the same thing to me. I think the person saying it's the first of its kind is wrong, but it would still be equally bizarre if people were addressing their "listeners" in normal conversation.

Riker is Boomhauer, and Barclay is Bill for sure.

I also remember reading a tweet where someone said their young kid would whisper "like and subscribe" at bedtime like it was part of saying "goodbye".

It's bizarre.

It's like none of them believe in blankets!

Comedy can be a minefield for this type of stuff. I'm a big fan of the comedians that can dance around the edge, or seem to cross it and then bring the audience back, eg: Mark Normand, Bill Burr, Jimmy Carr, a lot of the old Norm MacDonald stuff, etc.

But I'll see some fan compilations with titles or comments that make it clear that they don't get the style of humor... Like "[comedian] DESTROYS feminists!!1!"

When, to anyone with a reasonable level of social intelligence, it's abundantly clear that that's not what's happening.

It's almost been 30min, so I just thought I'd give you another reminder.

Hmm... could a substantial percentage of the population develop a fetish for curing cancer during our lifetime? That would be awesome.
