As a naturally introverted person, working remotely has vastly improved my social life, well-being, and productivity.
I used to burn all my social energy at the office, and when nights and weekends came around, I’d go into hermit mode to recover. Work drained me. Now I’m sitting on my social charger all day while I’m working, and I actually have the energy to see my friends after work and have much better balance in my life.
I’m fortunate to work for a company that let everyone decide what works best for them when RTO mandates started going around, and they get better work from me because of it. This CEO can get fucked.
Northwest US, same.
When you take a picture with your phone, you’re opening up the stock/default camera app to do so. There are alternative camera apps in the App Store/Google Play that offer different features.
It’s like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none.
I’m 38 and can’t imagine dating a 26 year old. The woman I’m currently seeing is my same age and it’s great.
Say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.
More power to you, and thank you for the reassurance that a vasectomy was the right decision for me.
There’s nothing more romantic than falling asleep spooning, waking up and softly whispering to your partner “my shoulder’s dislocated, get off me.”
Yeah, the Firefox extension I linked works the same way. I was just thinking out loud about the other alternatives and whether that approach would be feasible, but you’re right it does have the connection requirement.
I always forget the Kindle has a basic web browser. In lieu of a sync service/native apps, I wonder if any of these alternatives would work decently enough in the Kindle web browser with Article Mode.
And for what it’s worth, I use this Firefox extension to send articles directly to my Kindle without Pocket/any service in the middle.
I have plenty of books I’m partway through I should be reading, but Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid just came out and instantly jumped to the top of my list. Been looking forward to this one!
I use them. My screen has much more horizontal real estate than vertical.
Yeah, I can understand the sentiment. I was just clarifying that true intelligence (AGI) is a subset of what we refer to as AI, alongside other subsets such as Narrow AI/LLMs. I agree it's odd usage of the term, but I can't find a source otherwise.
While I completely agree with most of this, it’s my understanding that we have is a type of AI, as is AGI. LLMs are classified as Narrow AI.
Cute and a little nerve wracking since my cat is the idiot that would jump over the edge.
I have a Snap Grip Luxe on the back of my Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, which has wireless Qi charging but is not magnetic. On phones, the Snap Grip allows for passthrough wireless charging, so when I mounted it, I held my Kindle up to a wireless charging stand until I found the spot where it started charging, marked the top of the back with some tape, and mounted it roughly where I thought the charging coil might be (though there's some uncertainty because I don't know exactly where the charging hardware is inside my stand). It doesn't work.
It's possible this feature just doesn't work with the Kindle, but I have a new Kindle arriving soon and will have another shot at this, so I was curious if there was some way I can precisely locate and mark where the charging coil is on the back of my new Kindle to at least eliminate that factor. Any ideas?
