There's a little bit of absurdity in how people tend to make up new gender and sexuality definitions every day just to feel special. At this point the + in lgbqt+ is likely hundreds of different genders and sexualities. 'Gender' is now an identity politics game. If you want to play it that's fine a new gender or sexuality definition isnt hurting anyone but let's not pretend it isnt getting a little out of hand.
Scalability. Most federated Lemmy instances are hobbiest run projects started by every day joes and privacy advocating sysadmins. These instances can handle a modest amount of activity. Lemmy.world is slowing to a crawl and barely working due to being overloaded. At the scale of tens of thousands of active users you NEED proper infrastructure and a dedicated team. These are not things that come easy when the instance generates no revenue besides meager donations. Lemmy.world is looking for on call system operators willing to contribute 5-10 hours per week. Good help is rarely cheap let alone free.
Depends on who your asking. Some would call this being a 'mindless NPC sheeple' and others would call this 'being a responsible and respectable member of society'. Normal every day joes can individually contribute to building a service that isn't corporate backed or controlled by investors. This means there's no weird backdoor shinnanigans like shadowbanning or post being deleted/censored just for getting too many downvotes. The fact each instance caters to its own crowd but can cross interact with other crowds is an excellent balance between finding a community that you feel comfortable in but not being in an echo chamber unless you want to be. If a instance truly becomes toxic and starts to attract nasty hateful types of people it can be defederated so the rest of the lemmyverse community doesn't have to deal with nutjobs and trolls.

My current phone is going strong still and I dont spend more than 200$ on a phone period. Im pretty sure most foldable phones are still 500$+. Besides I like that my phone has a protective case in case of dropping and half of it is both scratch and impact resistant. With these folding phones they seem very fragile and scratch prone. I heard the glass over time gets creases but that was a while ago and they may have improved on that front.I had my fun with flip phones in the 2000s with tracphone, not really a new gimmick for me.

Stoners arent exactly the most scientifically minded group of people in the first place either which doesnt help. That's what I first heard too. If you bother to do any kind of reading on the subject you will find its not like that. Delta/thc8 is naturally occurring in cannabis albeit at low amounts. It is essentially the same thing as delta 9 the main psychoactive cannabanoid in cannabis with the exception of one molecular tweak. Delta 10 is yet another variant of THC with one molecular difference too but is indeed synthetic due to it not being naturally occurring. While its hard to say now if these minor differences make any difference to health in long term the general consensus is "probably not" since the chemicals are so similar and essentially interact with the brain receptors in the same way. Its not like how with salt one sodium molecule makes a difference between poison and tasty rock. This stuff has been on the market for a while now tested by millions of people and nobody has reported health issues. D8 exist naturally in dope anyways so people have been ingesting it either way.

I said 'Fundimentalist' as in people taught to legitimately believe everything in the bible/scripture is to be taken literally and everything that is evidence against the stories being true is actually lies and deceptions of the devils doing. Perhaps fundamentalist is technically the wrong word for them but thats whst comes to my mind.
I have spoken to enough Christians to know that there exist both rational people willing to accept their scripture may have some symbolic metaphor and I've spoken to batshit insane zelots who warp their subjective reality to match whatever they are told to believe and reject all evidence otherwise. I've encountered the latter more often than you might like to think. Even if they are not the majority there is enough of them to do serious damage. I would be interested to see some statistical numbers based on polls if you have the sauce on that.
There are many angry, hate filled, unquestioning people who use religion as a means to an end. Im not just talking about any one religion either, its not about that. A mixture of poverty, mental illness, cognitive dissonance, and cult like brainwashing tactics will get you the kind of person willing to burn everything to the ground. They want nothing more than to kill everyone and everything that doesnt agree with them in the name of god. If you know where to look you will whole communities of them. They exist.
This is the equivalent of vlog youtuber buying a 1500$ Mac to do basic video editing. If your only goal is to do music production you don't need these kinds of specs. A prebuilt 500$ ibuypowerpc would be more than enough. you can spend the 700$ on some nice equipment and professional software.
Unless youre a hardcore video gamer or into super specialized tech like locally hosted AI or crypto mining you don't need to spend more than a few hundred bucks with today's modern hardware. 8gigs of ram, an amd processor, and a graphics card made in the last 10 years will service you just fine. As a music production person your biggest concern isn't processing power but hardware fedelity. You want to spend the big bucks on your synth, cabling, production software and sound card if applicable. Also look into open source production programs if you find one that works for your needs you can save bucks that way too.

I think you misunderstand. delta/thc 8 and 10 flower is federally legal to buy and sell. its not technically considered marijuana as long as thc9 content in it is below 0.3%. its considered 'hemp flower'. Delta 8 and delta 10 were federally legalized with the 2018 farm bill along with all other non-thc9 cannabanoids. You can order it right off the internet from a wholesaler 5 states away and have it shipped right to your front door through the mail. Alternatively you can look up "cbd shops near me" and most of them will sell delta 8/10 flower and carts along side cbd flower and carts. I recommended industrialhempfarms because I've ordered tons off them and know they are reputable with lab testing all their stuff. There is some legal nuance I am not getting into but just ask your phone 'is delta 8 legal in (your state) and you'll probably find the answer is 'yes.' Its more expensive then contemporary yarns like cotton and plastic due to it being a little more of a uncommon material but there are hemp fabric wholesalers online where you can order in bulk at cheap prices. On amazon there's hemp yarn spool of 50ft for 10$ of I rember correctly. Its important to get a softer yarn and not the twine because its easier to work with when just learning. I got the twine cause it was cheaper to practice and it was near impossible for me to really get far with it (I tried crocheting). The 'just hemp' brand was much nicer to work with
Not happening. Every action and decision you make or don't results in a consequence. Cause and effect. These consequences aren't always obvious, negative, or noticeable right away but if you look far enough back on your life you will probably see how your choices snowballed to where you are now.
Some people think they are tragic characters living some Shakespearean tragedy where all the bad things happen to them are just the universe/fate giving them a bad hand. This choice to be nihilistic determinist leads to self fulfilling prophecies where they make no effort to improve their life.
Some people think they they are the masters of their own destiny and that despite there being bad parts of the world that are unfair they do the best they can to find success anyways and not throw a never ending self pity party. These people tend to get farther in life and are much more satisfied.
These differences in philosophies are indeed a personal choice everyone subconsciously makes. Whether to be the captain of the boat that is your life and steer it to the destination you want or to be a helpless passenger pushed by the oceans waves adrift until you crash.
A person in an abusive relationship chooses not to leave it through inaction. despite how much they think they have no choice because of X reasons. A severely overweight person who blames their genes and makes no effort to try and loose it. An unhappy married couple who want to divorce but convince themselves not to 'for the kids' so they live a decade or two of an unhappy existence subjecting their children to second hand misery when the better option for the kids long term wellbeing was to indeed split. There are consequences to hard decisions, sometimes its not even a right or wrong decision. The pieces just fall where they lay.
Not doing something to change the trajectory of your life is also a choice whether you want to recognize it as one or not. Its the choice of inaction that you justify to yourself.
The problem is that nobody wants to be at fault when things go wrong. Its much easier to scape goat blame to fate and all of life's unfortunate circumstances. When you do point the finger at yourself for at least some of it you gain much more control over the direction of your life.
