OP, gender identity and race are two different things
  • How closed-minded do you lemmings have to be to think race is just skin color?

So you're saying there has never been an Asian adopted from China by Americans who has never in history ever identified with their adoptive ancestors?

Transracial people struggle with themselves as much as transgender people. Both groups struggle with self-love and it's bigoted to marginalize them just because they are not as understood or as persecuted.

  • I take it Leni/ShinigamiOokamiRyuu proved her innocence and is just waiting out the nastiness now while the "Davel alt" got banned (also I didn't know the Wayback Machine was a part of the fediverse).

So, for clarification, I was named in the feud but was never actually in the actual feud and am an observer, and can absolutely prove I was offline 100% of the time (deleted Lemmy comments linger, so it's not like I am erasing any involvement). I just happened to get namedropped as collateral damage (on another occasion, so did the Ask Lemmy mod Candyman337 simply for keeping Leni around, and Candyman337 wasn't in the feud either, and they are welcome to testify too). As an observer, this only made me want to observe it more though.

The whole thing was mentioned on Reddit. Leni was asked at one point by a .world admin if she (the admin) could ask questions in her server which is visible on her profile (I kind of wish she could have asked mine back when it would have been useful to reveal who I am despite the dangers like she had hence her old avatar, but whatever). That admin got a lazy streak due to how complicated things got before the Blahaj admins were given the offer starting in the replies of another so-called exposé (a recurring theme is these exposés are false and can be proven false, e.g. Davel on his main account tries claiming in the replies on another such thread of theirs that she is impersonating a Beehaw user when Leni's full name has been established for years and that it's the Beehaw user who is impersonating Leni). I'm would be inclined to say they actually took the time to listen because they, the most uptight instance, came to the exact opposite verdict, as seen by the "exposer's" fate after this deceiver was encouraged by another person to "downvote, report, block", ironically to deal with Leni's supposed troublemaking alts (which doesn't hold weight given that Candyman337 was themselves accused of being her alt). You know what they say, when the hecklers have egg on their face, they ought to eat it.

Thank you for giving hope, Blahaj admins hugs the admins

Let's look at the positives though. I think it's really cool that the Wayback Machine is in the fediverse, as shown by the fact that the part of your username showing your instance turns into "web.archive.org" when viewed under the Wayback Machine.

Anyone know what's up with Ask Lemmy?

I looked away for a few days, and I guess it's down? I came back and it's not working for me. Are they doing maintenance?

I heard the admins of lemmy.world were investigating claims about a prominent member in order to form a verdict and I would like to offer myself as witness and someone to call to the stand to question

And no, I am not alt of anyone here, so I'm not just trying to inflate the numbers of the defense. The admins of lemm.ee can attest to this if they have my IP address, as admins in the days of old forums used to have (I would be really, really surprised if they didn't and couldn't provide it). Neither do I use a VPN. I am too poor for those. That hasn't, however, stopped me from being dragged into this mess for good by the peoples' infamous chancellor Davel, who it seems isn't new to doxxing either (though the random lying is new, if that is to be believed), or LGBT-phobia, which I would like to expose because me and the subject previously discussed the suicide of someone else who recently was dragged into this mess, all because people didn't like that they, too, were defending (which they expressed with empathy towards his transphobic boyfriend), so as long as everyone wants to expose LGBT-phobes.

It disheartens me this is the info I will be starting with, assuming I get to be questioned. As someone who is LGBT, would I be wrong in saying people potentially have blood on your hands here (it should be noted people have been asking everyone to defederate from lemmy.ml for a long, long time, and there were many chances for everyone to do so, and if there's anyone here I feel uncomfortable around, it's Davel and the people he is now helping)? Ironically this person who died was someone the accusers didn't mind using to attack ShinigamiOokamiRyuu when it suited them (and still suits them as long as people aren't smart enough analyze things, which is why those who get dragged in use so many links that Ganondorf would be scared) when it made them look bad, with nobody wanting to acknowledge they forgave ShinigamiOokamiRyuu until they died from transphobia at the hands of the same accusers, who were censoring him for defending ShinigamiOokamiRyuu and siding with the transphobic boyfriend, which weighed on him because his mother recently died too. Some people totally do have blood on their hands, and these kind of impulses by the people can be manipulated to serve something undesirable.

These "exposés" come from a triad of new users (suspicious much? The second person mentions a previous alt somewhere but I forgot the name.) who have been known to engage in this smear campaign against this person, ShinigamiOokamiRyuu, all across the web, for things that happened a long time ago on websites far, far away. I actually wasn't interested in this conflict until I got dragged in and saw the death of a fellow trans person, and I certainly wouldn't want to be mixed in with these types of accusations just for talking to someone a certain way. The moral of the story seems that if you want innocent people to be accused of things, accuse them of being people who are already accused of things. Then it's alright, right? Right? People who actually ethically analyze what is going on will be bothered by this, and someone mentioned @EllaSpiggins@lemm.ee had told @shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee at one point that the best thing to do is to leave these matters up to the people in charge, but clearly this hasn't helped anyone except those willing to take advantage of that.

A troll (https://lemm.ee/u/shinigamiookamiryuu) is a new moderator of AskLemmy on Lemmy.world. They recently trolled about how Elon Musk's Nazi salute "has been debunked". What can be done about this?
  • I don't know how guilty everyone is, but I do know that someone's past, if they keep it in the past like you're trying to say you've done in your quest for improvement, shouldn't be grounds for ostracism and removal of powers every time they try to attain some kind of goal somewhere. I notice what you describe was explained elsewhere too.

Davel banned me from the transgender community in Lemmy ML by the way, just for merely interacting leniently with you. I looked up the whole "rule 1" thing, it's BS. I also notice someone tried explaining the whole thing in the Fedilore section, only for them to literally make a new rule (rule 3) that wasn't there before just so they had a reason to censor or remove the explanation.

Back when you tried going to the original commenter for advice and didn't get any (either as a diplomatic gesture or due to genuinely wanting to talk to someone), I mentioned all signs pointed to them being exclusionary to you, and considering their continued activity there after the interaction, I think it goes without saying now, which I was going to respond to you saying before seeing that Davel (who one of the things I showed is himself anti-LGBT) banned me from the ML communities.

  • Have you ever used any of the alternative methods of verifying yourself before? Either intentionally or accidentally? What were they?

If this sounds like an oddly specific question, let me explain.

I was in a Taylor Swift group and was asked to use the "selfie introduction" section to introduce myself. The idea of "selfie equals authentic person" seems to be hardwired into cultural consciousness. Not only are there ways someone might be able to fool that notion (with it going both ways, with people who took all the steps often being considered inauthentic anyways), but there are other ways to verify oneself. At least ten in fact, when I look them up (that always seems to come up first). Have you used any of these? Have you used any other ones? What have you done that hinted at your authenticity in an unconventional way?
