You read an article, written by somebody you never met, accusing a person you never met, citing evidence you never saw. Now you feel angry at the accused person. What does that make you?
  • One word I might use is "premature". I definitely don't know about other people, but rather than the anger implied in the question, if someone had a crime or misdeed attributed to them, if what happened mattered, my biggest inclination would be to try to fill in the gaps in my mind. Along the way, this of course potentially implies things like "why did they do it", "how was it done", and "did they really". A lot of people, however, consider it conclusive based on what amounts to public perception, something I am no stranger to being on the receiving end of, and I don't think I have to tell you how destructive that has turned out. It compels me to wonder how scary our state of existence is, especially when typically getting "to the bottom of something" is associated with neurodivergence.

  • It happens. For some people for different reasons, this is just the way of communicating that comes out the most naturally. I know a friend on the spectrum who not only does this but combines it with her art fursona/OC, so there's the added quirk of it coming off as a larp. It's not just a Sesame Street thing.

  • Do you remember a few days ago when I asked if we could talk about things that happen outside the fediverse?
  • He's not kidding when he says the context to understand the whole thing is in what he redirects to.

For example, the second and third sentence is a direct response to the replies which talk about the conditions for which the actions he is asking about would be considered "good". Take the top response for example: "I think you might be the drama at that point."

In the fifth sentence, he alludes to the understanding that the person who made a "first move" (which would be relevant in the discussions just mentioned) is the individual in question, before citing the first few moments of the context (before continuing to elaborate the first part of the fifth sentence). The "promotion" mentioned is an admin promotion. "The incentive to weigh in is thus pre-existing" refers to this, and then he mentions why it applies to him.

I have English issues and even I could comprehend all of this.

  • What is something you could easily do but haven't out of habit?
  • For a while, I thought the answer to this was writing a book I've been thinking about for a long time. Then, after seeming years of thinking about it, I went to write it down only to realize it's unwritable because of certain transitions that were not considered. Starting a week ago, the answer has become another writing project, but I'm not thinking about it that much anyways.

  • What's something that's scammy but only in ways you've connected the dots on?

Fall and Winter are typically the season for this, but I've noticed more people than usual have taken up interest in what amount to gyms. These very, very expensive gyms, which market themselves as almost exceptional in how they can help you regain yourself. All the while these "miracle body regimes" are advertised everywhere. Suspicious industry much?

Some neighbors of mine were headed there. I remember this because they were about to get into their vehicle, and I asked "the location is right around the corner, you don't want to walk and maybe save transport money" and they responded "no, we're old, we can't do that" before they rode there and gained entry so they can run on the machine, and returned having used their whole wallet due to the journey/destination. Though not as memorable as the fact they came back with a brand of potato chips with the same name as the place they went to. Nothing like feeding into what you're there to fix.

    How about you though?

Just out of curiosity, how do you report an authority figure (or how have you)?

Suppose you've come across someone running the place and there are examples of a case that can be made that they've broken rules. What next?
