  • To many people nowadays, the actual job itself doesn't matter, it's the fact that it's a job and it pays.

  • Turns out, productivity soars when you have a well rested, well compensated, well treated, healthy, and housed people who don't have constant stessors of literally every aspect of their lives nearly crumbling beneath them...

  • This is why there are varying carrots in my stew.

Some go in early to get that carrot flavor in the stock, which I like, but that makes them mushy and gross.

So I usually try and get the first carrots out before the potatoes go in, and then it's kind of a guess on my end when to put more carrots in so they're nicely cooked but not overdone.

  • Cool.

The more they focus on trying to kill me, the less resources they have to kill some Palestinian.

  • In real life:

Staring out of my apartment window

see woman trying to open locked gate to the construction site across the street

do nothing because I don't give a shit

keep staring out of my apartment window

  • know everything about us and would track us down if any hidden or un-deleted photo was ever published.

"if you go back to your country and post anything we will murder you"

Personally I'd just use encrypted backups or data recovery and post literally everything I could, possibly with a taunt calling out the coward who can only threaten people when backed up by billions in military funding and personnel.

  • Everyone makes fun of Tim, but BUT WAS RIGHT!

    LOOK AT THE BONES!!!

  • My in-laws have several books by Republicans, including Pence

Religious nut jobs, in my experience.

  • I miss my built-in IR emitter on my phone.

I used to use an app that would rotate through a bunch of common signals for "off" and I'd just stop it when the annoying-ass TV turned off.

Nobody would even notice, because I'm just another person on their phone, not some rando with a remote out in the lobby.

  • Phrasing like that reminds me of all the "this is the commu-social-marxism the libs want" and it's just a picture of current capitalism.

  • I have no regrets for the wall of text

Me neither. It was quite informative.

Typical Ohio, giving giant middle fingers all around.

  • Honestly I was surprised it wasn't pre-wired with explosives or some way to ensure rapid disassembly in case of invasion.

Seems like a no-brainer, but I'm sure that would be prohibitively expensive due to shelf life and stability of explosives, and maintainence for any mechanically coupled systems.

    Hindsight is usually 20/20

  • nearly kills her

Based on the picture of the broken square section, I think that might be a bit of a stretch...

But "person avoids injury at final destination screening" doesn't have that same allure.
