I've been taking a liking to handcuffs and women in police uniforms as of late. Just seems like a cute trust exercise being handcuffed by your partner and trusting them that they won't take advantage of that vulnerability and even play around with it a little.
While I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about it, I really don't like that I'm able to see who reported my content. By not having the reporters be anonymous, it leaves a gateway for people to be harassed by others for making completely legitimate reports.
I'm not sure how likely it is that a case like this has happened already, but as the community grows, we're bound to see people who are here in bad faith.
That seems fine. With my moderating approach I've always kinda been more along the lines of zero tolerance, but never done so much as to seek out reasons or whatever, I'm definitely able to take a more soft approach as I've taken that approach before in much smaller spaces.
Might be because my first moderation experiences were on Twitch, and it was usually important there to try and catch people before they acted rather than when because of the live nature of things.
I might be interested, however, I'm not sure if I would be a great fit.
On the one hand, I moderate a smaller community on this instance (!unbirth@lemmynsfw.com (vore-related community), and on my main account on another instance, I moderate five communities, though none have needed any moderator action to date. I also have experience as a former Discord mod for a community of 20K plus members.
On the other hand, I'm ace, and only lightly into BDSM, if you can even call my interests that. I think the memes here are enjoyable though, which is why I follow the community. However, while I'm sure action against accounts based on their involvement elsewhere on LemmyNSFW likely won't be common at all, if a situation arises where I do need to check an account's posting history, I likely won't be of much help considering I have a very large community blocklist.
Hope you stick around as an admin, while I may have disagreed with some of the things you've proposed and done, it's really refreshing to have someone in charge who not only actively listens to the community, but goes so far as to ask the community about possible issues and matters that haven't been brought forward.
Really gives a human face to the community, thanks for being so down-to-earth here.
Kinda confused why there's a vote on this tbh. Just block the community if you don't like it? That's kinda on the end user.
Like, Imma be real, I probably have the biggest community block list of any user on the instance, but that's mainly because I'm ace and here for the lewd stuff rather than the sexually explicit stuff. I know I'm not the target demographic of this instance overall, but if there's an option for people to filter the content out they should use it.
Would it be possible to set up Liberapay as a payment method? I don't know their policy on NSFW-related projects, but I really enjoy it as a payment option since they don't take anything off what's donated, give many different donation options, and is run by a non-profit that made the site's code open-source.
