xkcd #3109: Dehumidifier
  • I feel like I'd benefit from a smart dehumidifier.

I'm on a Time Of Use tariff where my electricity is very cheap at night. I'd like to be able to schedule for it to come on for those 5hrs in the winter to take the moisture out of my shed-office. It achieves nothing to put it on a smart meter as you have to physically press go on the dehumidifier

  • The Special Relationship
  • As I saw this happen I thought that this would be the take but in reality, what's he going to do? Just stand there and not help pick them up for him?

My take is he's just helping the elderly as Trump won't have the mobility to bend down and get them.

  • Cars From VW group
  • Great link, thanks. Wow it is. I'm not against the idea if it offers more internal space but so many SUVs/cross overs are the same size inside as a much smaller car.

We'd hired a vw t-roc for 4 and turned up with too much luggage. They encouraged us to take a bog std estate (Fiat Tipo) and it was insane how much more fit in it

  • Midsize Firm Refuses To Back Down On Its Diversity Scholarship Program, Despite Trump's DEI Threats
  • Are you in the US? I'm in Europe and I think people here working in supply chains have reservations about DEI targets when buying for American companies for this same reason. We're taught to buy only based on value and capability to deliver.

  • Tesla customers in France sue over brand becoming 'extreme right'
  • I agree, it's a step beyond the little sticker on the back of the car.

I'd do the same if I had one but pedoguygate switched me off the brand and it's never been the direction that I wanted to see EVs go (look I have a button that makes the car/range go down really fast. I also don't think talk of range without reference to battery size is helpful)

  • Learning about autism to help my son

My 5yr old son has just been diagnosed. The diagnosis was binary (yes:no) rather than a scale which was the first lesson for me.

I need to understand how to support him and am not sure where to start. Does anyone have any advice please?

    Cat food - UK

Ok, hit me with ideas please. I can't afford to double the cost but am prepared to pay extra for European cat food, both dry and wet.

Anyone found good options? I'm in the UK which may limit my options

Best way to get a game on holiday?

Only just taken it up, came from tennis so I'm a reasonable level (3.5ish).

I'm keen to play when I'm on holiday in Spain and wondered what people felt was the best way of approaching this.

Do I email the nearest club and ask them to set me up with some of their club members? Or maybe just focus on 1-2-1 coaching? (would that even work or would you need a pair to do coaching?).

Is there an app in Spain where you advertise to have a game? I think playtomic is meant to be but doesn't seem too active.

We're at a kids resort so I thought to ask the resort to try to organise but I don't think they'll want to be doing this just to entertain me lol

    Any other ideas appreciated
