I could not disagree more. There's a lot of dudes who really, REALLY hate women. I mean, that should be self evident.
Also, to be clear, there's very good, reasons for folks to be skeptical about inviting men into allied spaces. It's complex. People are complex.
This. Right. Here.
Stop the triangulation it needs to die already.
No, man, that's in Canada where it's natural. In the States, we use Froot. They're Froot Loops.
That's why we need RFK, maaaaaaaaaan.
I see what you're saying, and I actually completely agree with a lot of the sentiment. I think the real issue is broader than simple demographics.
That said, if you feel like the obvious alienation men are feeling from allied spaces isn't a big deal, well, I guess that's something you can choose to ignore at your own peril. I don't think it's a good idea, but I'm just some stupid dude.
An I demographic blaming?
Honest question, why so defensive? This post is demographic blaming, but am I supposed to go, "oh yeah I suck even though I am an ally." Is that it? Is that what you want? Subservience? Or an honest conversation so we can move forward?
Omg thank you, lol. I am not in touch with gun culture at all.
Please don't get me confused, I don't think it's good this many men voted for The Stain. Also, 52% of WHITE women, but I bet if you combined ALL women, that number would drop dramatically.
My broader point is, IMO, that 42% never gets talked about so why would it grow, yeah?
Or, put another way, when I talk about women, who are my allies against the Patriarchy, I speak of why I like them (because I do, I LOVE women). They are resilient, strong, resourceful, grounded, etc, all the good stuff, and I try to include all women in that, they are my allies. I try NOT to focus on trad wives, manipulators, "gold diggers", abusers, weirdos like MTG or Caitlyn Jenner , you know, bad people (and there are plenty).
But when I hear about men in the ally space, it feels like I hear all about how awful and dangerous we are and that's it. And there's ALWAYS this group of guys willing to go along with it and point and go "yeah, we totally suck! You guys saying we don't are the real problem!" But, how is that motivating to anyone? It makes me upset, anyways. Maybe I'm just a big emotional baby, who knows?
Anyways, I'm blabbing. Bad habit of mine.
This isn't going to be popular, but part of the problem is not acknowledging that 42%. It's fucking insulting, frankly. Plenty of women voted for the bear.
EDIT: In light of reports of tons of guys saying "your body my choice" and shit, I actually regret writing this & everything below.
Like, what the fuck, boys?
Happy Spooky Season! Be sure to read the manual.
So, screaming at him all night didn't work?
Sleep easy OP, this is likely some bullshit.
Hexbear is way worse, imo. Those folks will straight up harass dissenters. Stay away or maybe just stick to your gaming sub if you're happy there.
Sometimes I put directions into Maps for a work thing and I have to be there before the location opens to the public and when I put the address in, before it will give me directions, the app says, "HEY, THE PLACE YOU'RE GOING MIGHT NOT BE OPEN, JUST THOUGHT YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW, STUPID ASSHOLE."
It makes me unreasonably(?) furious.
I actually love the fact that stadiums full of people go to political rallies and get jazzed about policy speeches. It's strange, right? But I'm glad it's something we get collectively psyched about. In a democracy, it (usually) feels healthy.
Well said.
I'd like to add that the biggest problem, imo, is the closed source nature of the models. Corporations who used our collective knowledge, without permission, to create AI to sell back to us is unethical at best. All AI models should be open source for public access, sort of like libraries. Corpos are thrilled we're fighting about copyright pennies instead, I'm sure.
They should be a tad more frequent, imo.
No it's not. It's well established law that we are allowed to resell our physical media. You're just wrong. Like I said, if it were up to corporate media lawyers, you would be correct, which is why it's frustrating to see people like OP & yourself falling into line when no one's even asking you to. Stop that.
According to media lawyers, maybe. But when I have a CD of music, or a game cartridge, I can sell it to someone else. For money. Because it's my copy I'm selling. So, what the fuck are you talking about except ceding the point to corporate lawyers for no good reason?
Bored somewhere I can't leave, so uploading a sketch I happen to have on my phone camera while I wait.
I'm not sure if this piece is finished, but I'm done with it, if that makes sense.
About 9.5" x 9.5"
Experimenting with different pens in a sketchbook, I thought it might be interesting to try this contrast. The page on the right was done with the fattest pen from this brand line while the left was done with the thinnest.
If this sub isn't really for sketchbook work, my bad, please just let me know .
I found the tool I use for scratchboard/paper, so here it is. It looks like a pen, but is actually a flexible little blade.
I hope you enjoy!
Scratchboard sketch (scratchpaper? That's kind of something else. Anyways).
The tool I use looks sort of like a calligraphy pen, but is a flexible blade. I seem to have misplaced it, so, that's annoying. I'll try to include a picture next time.
I hope you enjoy.
I'm realizing folks like to see the tools people use when they draw so I included that this time. It's a brush that's too small tbh (a friggin' size 4/0) but it's nice & I got it for extremely cheap.
Hope you're having a swell day!
This is done on paper that mimics scratch board, but is waaaaaaaay cheaper. Somewhat hard to find without rainbow colors underneath, unfortunately.
I've been post my experimental illustrations over on Pixelfed (@monstrosity@pixelfed.social) and would like to cross post here, too.
If it gets annoying, mods let me know. Otherwise, I hope you like it!
