YouTube could be testing a three-strikes policy for ad blocking
  • It'll be interesting to see how this works with ReVanced, which is technically their own app, just stripped of the ads and sponsors. Can't be dinged for adblocking when they're never served up to begin with.

  • Tomorrow many subreddits will open up again, will you switch back to Reddit or stay on Lemmy (or use both)
  • I'm fragmenting time between reddit, kbin, lemmy, and squabbles.

I only have a couple more weeks that I'll get to use reddit. The official app is trash, and I'm a 100% mobile user - so when my app dies I'm done there...

I'm waiting for one of these platforms to make a good app and I'll settle there, but until then I'll fragment my time.

  • Jerboa UI improvements v2
  • Relay was the only app I could use consistently. I tried all the others. There is a Reddit API proxy that someone was creating for Lemmy that has been linked to /u/DBrady - hopefully he uses it to port his app here too.

  • What tv show intro do you never skip?
  • If it's less than 10 seconds, I won't skip because it's equally a hassle to skip. So far that's only been maybe Scrubs? These 90 second intros can buzz off man... GoT, Westworld, motherland... No thanks.

  • Subreddits you are going to miss?
  • Honestly, I think the more reliable curated information will be what I miss the most. I almost always append a Google search with "Reddit" - because the information and format are so much more reliable than the bot populated garbage sites.

    Also, niche porn subs. 🫡

  • Instance transfer

With mastodon instances, you can transfer your account to other instances. It's that possible with Lemmy?
