Tangerine [water based oil]
  • Thank you! Those (water based, so you dont need to get sick of the fumes of all that toxic stuff) oil colors are so amazing!

I feel I will have to learn to dial down the intensity of it all...

  • Can you map ./ to ./ for a docker image?
  • Thank you !!

One step closer :-D if I have the python file all ready to go in the directory, it works, but I can't seem to use my binaries (or the python script) if I compile them in into the image only.

I have my executables in a "binaries_to_use" folder, is there any way to add them to this local work folder? I tried the thing that worked before:

    COPY binaries_to_use/setup /

    but then

    CMD ["./setup"]

doesn't work, I guess it's no longer a "virtual folder for the image" any more?

Thanks again, I'm getting less dumb about this :-p

  • Can you map ./ to ./ for a docker image?

    Hello all!

Can you mount any folder a docker image is running in?

So for example, if I have a python script creating a file "./hello.txt", it would be written in the folder where I launch "docker-compose up" ?

I have figured out how to write the hello.txt to a subfolder like /data/ (by mapping an image-local folder to /data/), but I'd like to use like ./ for the image itself instead. So that the folder I'm launching the docker-compose in on my PC is mapped to ./ in the image, if that makes more sense.

So this works (in the compose.yml):

    volumes:

    - ./:/data

but the script must write to "./data/hello.txt"

    This doesn't work:

    volumes:

    - ./:./

It pops an error: mount path must be absolute

Any idea if this is even possible?

    Cheers and thanks !

Forcing federation with a Police Robot (Moebius collecting cards N° 80)

    Hello all !

I lost my fiber connection (they promptly replaced the malfunctioning part but forgot to plug my fiber back in, so Thursday to Monday the server was down) and with it a lot of federation.

I have tried, to no avail, unsubbing, resubbing, refreshing but European Graphic Novels stays on a post made 6 days ago ...

So maybe posting here will jolt it into life!

PS. I just say this instance is running on 0.19.1 which had some federation problems.

Edit: looks like it did it, yay!

Leaving the system [Watercolor ink on paper]
  • Moebius works are obviously something I'd recommend, but there are so many and so different ones. Space stuff? John Watercolor et la redingote qui tue is wonderful but doesn't look like this at all. I'd recommend the Incal series which is a masterpiece, but there are also several short series from the -70 which I don't know the names of, I can check them out when I get back home (away atm).

Valérian et Laureline is heavy space 1970-80 which have influenced me heavily. Good BD IMO :-)

On a side note, I did read Filemon too, maybe it junked me away from more traditional thinking when it comes to drawing and creativity. You are allowed to do whatever you want :-)

Barbarella was really something too back in the male dominated space.

    Gotta go sleep, cheers !

My server was cranky, it was Christmas, and so on, finally I hope everything is back up to speed!

Scientists Destroy 99% of Cancer Cells in The Lab Using Vibrating Molecules
  • Well, killing 99% of cancer cells is quite useless, the 1% left will now thrive and if they survived because they were different (and not just luckily escaping the treatment) you now have 100% of cancer cells you can't treat anymore.

Better case, the 1% "lucky" cancer cells just re-invade.

  • Version 0.19.1 outgoing federation issues for anyone else?
  • I got som weird behaviour, like nothing worked very well, with 0.19.0 so I updated to 0.19.1 and after quite a while (small instance, beefy PC) it starts to work again, it seems.

Except I am now a moderator everywhere. Maybe it doesn't work, I won't try, except asked, so can someone make a post that I can sticky or delete just to see what's happening?

    Cheers!

    0.19.1 bug I'm moderator everywhere

Hello, just upgraded to 0.19.1 and I'm surfing around the lemmyverse and it seems I have mod rights like everywhere.

I'm on Voyager so maybe it's a graphics bug, but I'll try to sticky this post to verify (I haven't tried on another site, becaus it's not suppose to work and that would be un nice. A sticky is quite harmless IMO).

Stickied post, changed sort algo to popular and it seems stickied.

Note: the post doesn't show up if I surf here with Firefox (not logged in at all), but maybe it takes some time for the post to show up?

Note: when using Jerboa, the post shows up, stickied.

@ Björn Tantau : seems thats the ticket, moderators can moderate anywhere, but its exclusive to their server.

Edit: post shows up as stickied, but there are no other visible posts... Lots of servers seems to have some tech problems with the 0.19 version.
