  • If that was the case, wouldn't his lawyers have a better argument than "the cops gathered evidence wrong"?

There is wishful thinking, and our own biases about this case, but I feel like if the current story were true, we wouldn't be splitting hairs about Miranda rights. And to be very clear, from what I understand, supreme court precedent, specifically New York v. Quarles, it has been already established that you don't actually have to be read your Miranda rights if there is a public safety exception. I imagine that will be main counter argument.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds like a weak argument from the people who have all the official details of the interaction and narrative they are pushing.

  • If there is one thing I know about both pre doc undergrads and TA's... Setting up a face to face may just be the only thing that saves us all from the skynet apocalypse.

Let's be honest, only an honest to god AI will willingly set up that meeting.

Even before ai, that shit sucks enough to burn the whole world down. Terminator doesn't have a chance

  • I think that rewording wikipedia is slightly better though. It still requires you to digest some of the information. Kind of like when your teacher let you create notes on a note card for the test. You have to actually read and write the information. You get tricked into learning information.

Ai, just does it for you. There's no need to do much else, and it's reliability is significantly worse that random wiki editors could ever be. I see little real learning with ai.

  • That's exactly what it is. He doesn't realize that he's just a tool, not the mastermind. But his ego and complete lack of self awareness won't let him see it. Same with trump. They have spent their whole lives thinking they are masters of the universe, and now that they have that control, all they do is fuck up their goals, because they aren't actually the ones calling the shots, and their goals are not why they were elevated to these positions. To steal from blazing saddles.

"What did you expect? ‘Welcome, Sonny?’ ‘Make yourself at home?’ ‘Marry my daughter?’ You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know—morons"

  • Well, to be fair, I live in America. USAID helping world hunger is good and I support that. And we could have done a bit more. And USAID manipulating foreign production to maintain my countries dominance is also to my benefit. Very much so.

It's not evil. It's morally ambiguous at best.

I want to help people, and I want my representation to do the same, but not to the point that it undermines my own countries dominance, and therefore my own livelihood. Because the other country wants that same power to themselves for their own benefit. And probably not to my own benefit.

I think it's fare to say that the next country will give way less of a shit about my well being. That's my problem. My representation failed miserably.

It's not evil at all. It's actually a very reasonable and a very human way of looking at the scenario.

  • Yeah my house plants are also victims in this situation. They literally destroy everything I love.

I tried putting chili oil on the cables and now I'm convinced that my cats could eat the most potent of Indian food and remain unscathed.

I think they crave it now...

  • I had jokes. I still had jokes when I finally figured it out thanks to the comments. I don't need another burner account. If I made my jokes, I would absolutely have another burner account.

I'm not a bad person, I say bad things sometimes. I'm trying to be better.

I find that aluminum is the best medium for trial and error because even though it is somewhat expensive, it's easy on the bits. And that is important regardless of the bulk material costs.

  • Check out @airplanefactswithmax on the social medias. He's an airplane mechanic that always starts talking about airplanes, and it always devolves into a way too in depth lesson in lotr. Seems right up your alley!

  • I would argue the opposite. Good anime has 2 or 3 seasons. If it takes more you hit this dbz, Gundam, or One Piece never ending filler trainwreck.

Tell the story. Don't wear it out. Even if it is a little bit forced or contrived, at least it has a tolerable ending and direction to get there. There are still flaws, but it is concise enough I can deal with it.

Cowboy bebop, big O, paranoia agent, Fooley Cooley, death note, basically the whole of the adult swim line up excluding Inuyasha is perfect in showing that you don't need five plus seasons to build an iconic anime series. Are they flawed in their own way, yes. But they are brief enough to maintain their story and relevance and become mainstays.

Bonus points to blood plus that lasted a bit longer but held itself together the whole way through.

Hindsight, I may just be a sucker for the early 2000s and 10's cartoon network anime. But damned if it wasn't good.
