Severance, I watched about 5 minutes if it a few years ago and gave up on it too quickly. Watching it now and it's an incredible show
Been there too many times to count, you got this!
Wow, that sounds like a labour of love!
Hi all,
I have enjoyed all of the replies in this thread, and it has brought me happiness to read about yours.
I also recognize that not everyone is feeling joy right now, and that's ok too, life is not always fun to live, sometimes it's downright brutal. If you're going through a time like that, I wish you the best in getting through it, there are few forces stronger than the power of the human will.
I think there are a few main themes here in the replies that seem to be spirit boosters, and let's be honest none of these are unexpected, but I think it can be nice to have a reminder of what's good.
In no particular order :
- Pets
- Family
- Friends
- Children
- Partners
- Accomplishments
- Projects
- Art
- Hobbies
- Freedom
- Teaching
- Health
Now I don't think you need to have every one of these things in your life to truly be happy, but if you're feeling like nothing is bringing you joy, maybe one of these things might.
I think most importantly, gratitude is the attitude, if something is making your life better, taking a second to recognize it can make it feel even better. If someone is bringing you joy, make sure they know it deep down in their soul ❤️
I'm glad you are enjoying it, and as am I, it's been so nice to read about all the good in everyone's lives.
I feel like Lemmy is kind of like anything else in that you get out of it what you put into it to a degree.
It depends on the reader I suppose, but I meant it in ernest
New life is the gift that keeps on giving ❤️
A good life partner really makes it all easier imo
My pleasure, it's been a treat hearing about all of the different ways people are soaking up life right now, including all th wonderful things you listed here 🙂
Hell ya, I'm a teetotaler myself. Nothing like sobriety over the long term, keep up the good work!
Gaming with the pals, one of the great pleasures in life, I'm glad you have that going for you!
My pleasure, it's actually brought me great joy to read about everyone else's slices of happiness 🙂
This is so cool, especially the bee warmth, I never thought of them putting off much heat, but I imagine with enough of them they would!
Cool, where you headed? (if you're open to sharing)
This is so fucking cool, nobody I know has a crow bro. How did y'all grow to be friends?
I think that not feeling any semblance of happiness is a feature of life at certain times, and I'm sorry that you are feeling that way. The world is neither a place of good or bad, but a mix of both, and if you're not able to see both sides, you're missing something. I hope that you're able to find some happiness in your life, and if it's at all in your control, I suggest you open yourself up to letting it in.
Personally I get real mean to myself and call myself garbage. How about you?
Every time somebody sends me a thumb I take it as "whatever you say you fucking dumbass" and it pisses me off.
And ya, I'm aware that that the replies are going to be thumbs, let's see em ya jerks!!!
Curious to get the pulse from lemmy on where y'all look to for your various sources of news.
I think I'll be cheering for Mike.
For me it's Idiot Wind, curious to know which one moves you.
For me, my Dad brought home a laptop from work and we looked up pictures of pokemon and went to the Simpsons website, circa around 1999. How about you?
I'd also love to hear stories about how it moved you on your first or 100th time listening to it.
What in your hoard do you treasure the most? I imagine to a lot of us it is photos and videos of our families, which I'd love to hear about, but also interested in rare bits of media or information that makes your collection unique.
I just joined Lemmy and so far I'm enjoying it. It's a little bit sparse in terms of content and users, but I think it has a really cool structure, and it feels more human than certain other social media sites.
I'm curious to know what users think about who is welcome here. Do you think it should be gates open, everyone including your aunt should join, or is it more exclusive to people interested in the fediverse as a starting point? Or something else?
Not trying to stir up shit, just genuinely curious about what the vibe is and where the community thinks it is or should be going.
