Absolutely normal. Kitty just likes to stay grounded.
The problem in this is that you can substitute either the Harris campaign or the Muslim voters for "they"
Lol! You're absolutely right. From my point of view, though, the democratic party is so fully captured and out of touch with actual issues that they're beyond being reasoned with, so it should almost go without saying who I'm referring to. And yes, I acknowledge how completely fucked that is.
They've created this absolutely monstrous situation where we always have to choose between letting people we care about get hurt, or a tiny glimmer of hope of something better, and even though I pushed to avoid the former, I'm fully sympathetic to both sides.
I personally agreed with undecided in principle and was sympathetic that Harris largely ignored them. The problem is that trying to leverage their position for actual good policy outcomes made for this nasty prisoner's dilemna situation where both parties chose the bad option.
I honestly thought that they'd eventually come around because of just how bad Trump was going to be for democracy, and moreover for the people they cared about. Sadly, they were so devoted to their game of chicken that some of their loved ones will pay for it.
I also don't think it's that callous to engage in a little bit of "I fucking told you so."
Most people I saw here were just trying to achieve the most favourable outcome, given the reality at the time.
Will he though?
Imagine just chilling in the dark, minding your own business, and some asshole comes at you with a light as bright as the sun, and you can't even close you're eyes because you don't have eyelids.
Whoa, good work! I think I'm going to have to go over this a few times to grock how it works, especially the Φ(b) - Φ(a) bit. My stats textbook has a bit too much dust on it. ;)
Moreover, that's not how probability works in independent events.
It'd be like saying "I flipped coin A 1 billion times and got half a billion heads, so now that I'm flipping coin B 100 times, I probably won't get any more heads."
It should be fairly obvious that you can say the exact same statement about tails, and get a completely contradictory statement.
Yeah, I was trying to compute the "ballpark" of the odds, but it's actually hard to do because of how astronomically improbable it is. Even computation systems that are designed to compute rather big/small numbers (think 100,000,000^1,000,000 big) fail.
Here's another example: If a human only had 1,000 gut microbes, the chance that over 900 of them get snapped is 1 in ~10^162 [WA]. (This was roughly the biggest number I could get WA to yield a non-zero answer for a >90% snap.)
Now if you do that for every human on earth, the probability is still essentially zero. [WA]
When you consider that humans don't have 1000 gut microbes, they have over 10 trillion, it's just mind bogglingly improbable.
The alternative is even more disturbing: snapped humans leave behind a cloud of poopy gut microbes.
That would be incredibly unlikely. Due to the huge number of gut microbes, the chance to even lose 5% off of the median, even with billions of trials, is functionally zero.
RIPBOZO. Streamers like this guy are why everyone hates influencers. I hope they throw the book at him.
I will warn you, it'll push your requirement for understanding game mechanics, and make you solve problems in new ways from the base game. It's also not feasibly beatable without at least some understanding of circuits, logistic mechanics, and (space) trains.
That said, good luck, and may your factory grow in perpetuity!
It's not for everyone, but if it's for you, it's amazing.
I'd highly recommend beating the base game first if you haven't already. The complexity really ramps up quite a bit, so if you struggle with the base game, it might be better to hold off. That said, if you're confident in your problem solving skills and willing to push through some of the tougher bits, you could totally jump right in to Space Age.
I think I'm at around 100 hrs in to SA so far, and maybe (optimistically) half way through, and I've loved every bit. Except Gleba, fuck Gleba. :)
No, it's not really a common problem. I mean in a big city, it'll surely happen from time to time, but in the 10 years I lived in TO, I never came across one.
This poor guy just happened to go viral and become a posthumous celebrity. And yeah, I think that's the racoon the poster was referencing!
Call city services, and then hold a vigil? #DeadGooseBC
Everything OK down there in America Nation X?
I've seen a few graphs in my day, and they generally don't do that. Sure, it could happen, but it almost certainly won't. :(
That said, the US and China both making steady progress is very good, but then again, a Trump presidency certainly might see some of that reverse.
I think the big questions is: how do we get Russia and India to curb their emissions? If India follows China's per capita curve, but with a 20 year delay, it'll be disastrous. They're going to need significant help to continue industrializing without seeing a huge rise in emissions.
I don't think I'd have seen this coming even 5 years ago, but China really might be positioned to be a global climate leader.
If you read what he was charged with, it was releasing 5,740 mink from fur farms causing economic damages above $100,000.
Those mink farms are absolutely horrific. So the "lesson" he didn't learn seems to be extreme animal cruelty is perfectly fine, and standing up against it is not. To me, that sounds like a good lesson to ignore.
So was this just a purely "everyone's doing it, so the customers (shareholders) expect it, so we'll follow suit" type thing? Do mass layoffs inspire confidence in the stock so it goes up? It's hard to understand from a rational position that throwing away money makes money for the investors.
I was going to make pizza on Friday, but I messed up when stretching my dough, and it seized up, so I had to rest it and re-rise, and so change of plans!
I had left over curry and just made the tofu cutlets by shallow frying in a small pan to minimize oil usage.
As always, any questions or feedback welcome, and happy to provide recipes if anyone wants them! \_\
I happened across some store bought vegan pepperoni, and decided I'd do one of the most simple pizzas in existance: the NY style pepperoni pizza. It totally wasn't because I was lazy and it takes like almost zero effort.
My dough caught on the peel as I was shimmying it on to the griddle, so I kinda got this weird teardrop-shaped pizza. Oh well. (:
There's really just something very comforting about a basic-ass slice like this. It's not fancy or pretentious, just delicious.
So I've decided to make pizza every Friday this summer. This is \#3, but I declined to post the first two because they contained a slightly controversial brand plant based meat substitute.
This one has vegan blue cheese, caramelized onions, button mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, balsamic reduction and pear slices. I meant to add a bit of arugula, but I forgot. A little fresh basil probably would have been good too.
Oh yeah, I was going to have it last night (y'know, on Friday like I said) but some stuff came up so I had to delay a night.
Feel free to ask for any recipes or whatever! I generally follow Adam Ragusa's NY style pizza recipe, but he's not vegan so if you don't want to give him additional traffic, I can probably answer any questions you might have.
If you have any suggestions for my next pizza, I'd love to hear it! \\
I've been learning to cook all sorts of Indian recipes lately. The samosa are store bought, cuz who has time for that. Everything else is made from scratch. I'll probably get around to makeing my own samosas too, some day.
Will post recipes if anyone is interested. ^^
A riff on the classic NY style pizza. Obviously with all the extra toppings, and a cheddar style "cheese", it's not in any way accurate, but it's what I happened to have on hand.
Dough & Sauce:
- Adam Ragusea's NY Style Pizza v2 [Content Warning: recipe is not fully vegan. It contains cow milk.]
"Cheese":
- Smoked cheddar style vegan grating block
Toppings:
- Red onion, mushroom, vegan sausage, fresh basil
