[meme] THE CHIMERA
  • Not excusing the behaviour but I'd bet it's the amount of traffic people often sit through everyday along with the overall pace of life feeling faster.

I'm lucky to work weird hours where traffic is almost zero, but personally, sitting in hours of traffic everyday to and from work would make me want to pull my hair out.

  • India considers joining Russia, China to build nuclear plant on Moon.
  • Only operate when your side of the moon is dark or even near the poles where it can be coldest? I'm not sure what the plan is for daytime operations since it apparently gets really hot.

No atmosphere up there to insulate so the temperatures fluctuate to extremes

  • Nearly two-thirds of Canadians support tariff on Chinese-made EVs, poll finds
  • In this instance, I think people need to separate the art from the artist so to speak. The Chinese EV's are already doing well in other countries and it can't only be because they are cheaper though I'll admit that is likely a large factor. Why not buy the best product for your money?

  • Windows Security Remediation Incomplete

Hey all, not sure if this is the right place but I figure someone here will be able to help.

Windows Defender found something called "Trojan:Win32/Ashify.J!frn" and failed to quarantine it apparently. This was earlier today that it was detected and it affected a strange file under AppData/Roaming/T2GP Launcher/Steam/Cache/Prod/GpuCache to a text file called "index" with some weird changelogs for a gameboy advance emulator.

No google results pointed to anything meaningful. Only a few posts suggesting the games launcher may have prompted a false positive, an old post about password protected files from 2022, and a malwarebytes warning from 2kgames spreading Red Line malware from 2022 as well.

Just checking to see if anyone knows anything or has experienced something similar before!

Would you buy an affordable EV made in China?
  • Ideally to drive the price of competing cars down or at the very least make the current models more feature rich/compelling than their cheaper Chinese counterparts to justify the price gap.

As it stands, Chinese built EV's have feature parity for the most part with locally built or otherwise imported EV's. All at a relatively great price for the product.

  • Government announces 30 year amortizations for insured mortgages to put homeownership in reach for Millennials and Gen Z
  • Even with a 30 year amortization, the prices of newly built or starter homes intended for the average Joe are getting a little out of reach. Signs are reading "new builds starting in the mid 400's!" which isn't exactly budget friendly in my eyes, nor starter home territory. The government has the spirit, they are just a little confused.

  • Sports Tracking Application

Any recommendations for an sport/activity tracking app? FOSS would be super but I'm open to all suggestions! I've been walking more and wondering just how far I've been going and at what pace.

    Thanks in advance!

    Buying Music on Android

    Hey folks,

I made the switch to Android from iOS and I am looking for an equivalent to the iTunes store for buying music! Is there a good option or am I sort of shoe horned into subscribing to a streaming service?

Edit: Thanks for all the replies everyone!

How do I get rid of burnt smells?

Hey folks! Just microwaved my heat pad a little too long and the cherry pits ended up burning slightly. It was only a small portion of the bag but the smell is stuck to me and taking over the house! Any idea how to tame it?

EDIT: Thanks for the replies everyone! I've had the windows open already but the vinegar was just placed so we'll see. Bowl eating and bag swallowing will be my next attempt if all else fails.
