Sex work would probably be less stigmatized in a currencyless society
  • I don't think you'd have prostitution in a currencyless society. They wouldn't be prostitutes at that point.

  • Adagio Mystery Box
  • From the website

Tie Guan Yin is a variety of Chinese oolong tea. However, this version takes the classic Tie Kuan Yin leaves and processes them in a black tea style. This unique combination culminates in the velvet savory texture of black tea with the unique floral charm of traditional Tie Guan Yin tea.

  • Adagio Mystery Box

I ordered a mystery box from Adagio which finally came in and was surprised at what came in. I was expecting a collection of single cup samples but instead I got several of the larger bags that can make multiple cups each.

    This box contained:

    • April in Paris - .8oz
    • Blueberry Peach Gobbler Green - .5oz
    • Double Ginger Herbal - .8oz
    • Lemon Meringue Green - .5oz
    • Zodiac - aries tea - Single
    • Black Jasmine Song - Single
    • Tie Kuan Yin Black - .4oz

Since they change what they put in the mystery box each month, I might just see how to setup a monthly auto-purchase.

  • Am I the only one who's sick of the isekai?
  • When I think about what I would do if I suddenly found myself transported to another world, the last thing I would be doing is looking for a job as a mercenary. As stupid as a lot of the plot is, I really like Striving for a Luxury Liner simply because the MC recognizes that he's not cut out to be an adventurer and becomes a merchant instead.

The only isekai I've read that properly utilized the isekai genre was Release that Witch since the MC's "cheat" is his knowledge of mechanical engineering. He kicks off his own little industrial revolution to defend his territory.

  • Am I the only one who's sick of the isekai?
  • My main critique of the genre is how lazy it's done. There's nothing wrong with having the MC reincarnated, transported, or made overpowered. One Punch Man has a massively overpowered MC but it's still really good. The problem is that they're all low effort cookie cutter stories that are just checking items off a list.

They're also fairly unrealistic. "Gasp...is this that isekai thing I've been reading about? I guess I'll go join the Adventurer Guild and get a super dangerous job killing monsters despite the fact that I've never been in a dangerous situation before."

There's no way all these random people will just calmly accept finding themselves in another world with no freaking out or depression setting in first.

  • The engineering problems that pop up on DS9 are actually pretty mundane when you compare it to the crazy shit that happened on the Enterprise.

DS9: Some component broke down and needs to be fixed.

TNG: The Enterprise becomes sentient, uses holodeck characters to represent it's various mental aspects, and gives birth to some doodad that then flys away.

I picked up some new teas from a shop while on vacation and this one was pretty good. I like teas with lavender in them but I find that it's sometimes overpowering. This one had the lavender taste without it overwhelming the other flavors.

Where are y'all getting your tea from?

I've gone from getting tea bags at the grocery store to tea bags ordered online and just started getting loose leaf tea. I've been buying the bags and the loose tea from Stash but I was wondering where all of you get your tea.

    Cherry Almond Black Tea

I just tried this tea and it was very good. I'm not a big fan of cherries but I have been drinking it almost every day and like it more than the Cinnamon Black Tea I bought at the same time.
