"My biggest concern is staying out of war so I voted for the guy I think is Hitler."
  • It's such an alien thought process that I don't even know where I would begin with discussing politics with such a person.

  • New Rule
  • The Vending Machine one is actually pretty good.

  • Democrats Begged Team Kamala Harris Not to Campaign With Liz Cheney
  • I think the real answer is all of the above. Biden waited too long to drop out, which didn't give enough time to properly hold a primary. This resulted in Harris being nominated with no way to gauge how popular she would be. She then ran a terrible campaign spending too much time courting moderate Republicans. This resulted in progressives being disillusioned and not voting. Her stance on Israel and Gaza turned away Arab voters who also didn't vote. All of this combined together to pave the way for a second Trump presidency.

  • Can we just move on from the US 2024 election?
  • If the past is any indicator of the future then we can expect the next four years to be non-stop Trump posting.

  • why is lemmy.world very ban happy?
  • It being small might be part of the problem. Reddit has more money to fight legal battles than lemmy.world

  • A 'constitutional sheriff' tried to seize voting machines in 2020. Officials are bracing for a repeat.
  • The real problem is that these people get away with it. There are no consequences to their actions. If no one is going to hold them accountable then it's not just a belief they have, they really are above the law.

  • A stroke of genius
  • I know a number of people who thought the Wii U was an attachment for the Wii and not a separate console so you might be right about the name.

  • E-scooter with exercise bike attached seized by police in Inverness
  • I wonder why e-scooters are banned on Scotland

  • The Memo: Trump campaign struggles to contain Puerto Rico October surprise
  • I imagine what they're trying to contain are angry Puerto Ricans living in the US from going out and voting. The higher the voter turnout is, the greater the chance of Harris winning. Making Democrats angry enough to actually go out and vote is definitely something the Republicans want to contain.

  • On the bright side, zero responsibilities
  • That's how I always felt about it. As long as I get paid, I don't care what they do with the software.

  • US warns Israel to boost humanitarian aid into Gaza or risk losing weapons funding
  • I've always felt that we support Israel for the same reason we support Ukraine. They're a friendly military force located in a region of the world where we have enemies. Ukraine helps counter Russia and the same for Israel during the Soviet Union era. Now Israel is a counter to Iran and various terrorist groups.

  • NSFL - Not Starfleet lunch
  • That could have just been voyager though. They had replicator rations and a vegetable garden for saving power so it's possible that the fridge was something they did and wasn't a standard feature on other starships.

  • Main characters
  • I'm pretty sure you could just name any five characters at random and odds are that person has died at least once.

  • Can’t upgrade your PC to Windows 11? Buy a new one, is Microsoft’s laughable solution
  • My computer can't upgrade to Win11 and I am buying a new one, but I'm putting Linux on it.

  • Police officer's gun sucked away by powerful magnets in lab raid
  • Tinted windows, security cameras, and uniforms...rock solid proof of a weed farm. /s

That describes 90% of the businesses I shop at.

  • I always get them confused.
  • The joke is so obvious there's no need to comment on it so others, including myself, are using this as an opportunity to post our opinions on the difference between sci-fi and fantasy.

  • I always get them confused.
  • I would argue that science fiction and fantasy are the same thing and the only difference is the explanation for how all the cool stuff works.

Functionally, there's no real difference between a portal that takes the characters to another world using a wormhole and one that does it through through magic. Just like how there's no difference between Vulcans/Klingons/Wookies and Elves/Dwarves/Beastmen. Both are intelligent non-humans.

  • Teamsters say most of its members back Trump for president in poll
  • They think when the chaos hits they'll be the ones climbing the ladder instead of the ones being used as a ladder.

  • Adagio Mystery Box

I ordered a mystery box from Adagio which finally came in and was surprised at what came in. I was expecting a collection of single cup samples but instead I got several of the larger bags that can make multiple cups each.

    This box contained:

    • April in Paris - .8oz
    • Blueberry Peach Gobbler Green - .5oz
    • Double Ginger Herbal - .8oz
    • Lemon Meringue Green - .5oz
    • Zodiac - aries tea - Single
    • Black Jasmine Song - Single
    • Tie Kuan Yin Black - .4oz

Since they change what they put in the mystery box each month, I might just see how to setup a monthly auto-purchase.

Tried Lady Grey a la Creme

I picked up some new teas from a shop while on vacation and this one was pretty good. I like teas with lavender in them but I find that it's sometimes overpowering. This one had the lavender taste without it overwhelming the other flavors.

Edit: I tried to upload a picture but it wouldn't let me so I used a link to the one of the pictures on the site.

I know there's a whole ethics thing revolving around the use of AI but I still find this sort of stuff to be amazing.

Where are y'all getting your tea from?

I've gone from getting tea bags at the grocery store to tea bags ordered online and just started getting loose leaf tea. I've been buying the bags and the loose tea from Stash but I was wondering where all of you get your tea.

    Cherry Almond Black Tea

I just tried this tea and it was very good. I'm not a big fan of cherries but I have been drinking it almost every day and like it more than the Cinnamon Black Tea I bought at the same time.
