Time for another episode of Plain Reading! We're talking to biologist Caroline Turner about #reading around the world, rediscovering childhood favorites, and even a few recommendations for #Chicago -

  • Ohhhhhh it's a color/colour thing LMAO well ok you learn something new everyday lol

  • A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source.

  • It's not nearly as good as the 0G. This one's just a common social media "Hot girl sliding into your DMs" account

  • Well maybe not destroy, but alien enslavement can't be worse than our current human led governments soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • If they don't have Hank saying this in the new season, I will be extremely disappointed

  • IME, they're not pretending lolol 😂

  • If it's true and accurate, then one would have no issue finding, and posting, a better source quickly

  • DING DONG BANNU

oh and also, seriously, does anybody want to come to Candy Mountain with me? I found Candy Mountain!

  • Lol, idk to me Lemmy is Lemmy, just with a bit of difference in the feeds depending on what instance you're on is federated with

.world is already fairly federated, too much IMO since they still haven't defederated from .ml but I digress. So I don't feel like I'm missing out on all that much.

Every time I see a hex or grad post it's always just a shit show, I just peeked over there on another account earlier and saw they were...cheering... .ee's closure soo meh

  • If boost ever rolls out PieFed support, I'll be there faster than Paris breaking the warp 10 barrier

  • fandom.com

They operate without honor! So both should be on the right

  • Here's a recap post

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankie

Tankie is a pejorative label generally applied to authoritarian communists, especially those who support or defend acts of repression by such regimes, their allies, or deny the occurrence of the events thereof.

Since Lemmy doesn’t suck down data like corporate social media does simply lurking doesn’t contribute to an instance’s growth.

And when you crosspost that content elsewhere, with no comments or upvoting on the original, it diminishes that instance’s power and influence just a bit and contributes to a more decentralized Lemmy-verse

We should be doing the same with .world, not because of toxic propaganda pushing admins, but just so that content is more decentralized in general. But I’m just 1 person who refuses to automate it, soo I can only do so much lmao

On Lemmy, big comms, user counts and content are an instances influence, the more you have the less others will be willing to defederate from you. Kinda why .ml can get away with so much crap

    https://lemmy.world/comment/16389208

I'm cross-posting content from .ml comms to the nearest non-.ml comm as part of ongoing boycotting efforts to reduce .ml's influence to make defederation an easier decision for admins everywhere because of the .ml admins insistence to push their Tankie ideology through various means from censorship of views critical of Authoritarian regimes such as Russia or China (and even criticism of the right-wing)to allowing propaganda outlets (such as RT) to flourish

  • I pissed off the Tankie Triad LMAO

Though the instances and accounts have been defederated/banned now, votes aren't typically reverted. So my posts from the last day or so will be unexplainably downvoted lol

But in general yea, but that fingerprint can be rather detailed, everything from hardware configuration to cookies to even what doesn't load (e.g. you have an ad blocker)

  • I wish lol, yea world did defederate with the rest of the triad, but .ml is generally left because

Its the dev instance and they run official Lemmy dev/support comms from there, they still have a few big comms and some of the only niche comms (both issues I aim to address through cross-posting) and they "keep the mask on" more and keep things subtle to avoid larger defed movements
