Do these methods work to view private IG profiles ?
  • So if these methods work and aren't scams, why are you asking about them? If they work then you have what you need? It might be worth keeping in mind that if a girl has their profile on private it's because they don't want people like you looking at their personal shit. Your time might be better spent trying to find a woman in the real world who actually wants you to look at her.

  • More Americans are becoming 'house poor' due to high housing costs
  • I don't think "house poor" is the correct term for people renting. House poor means you spend too much on home ownership. These people don't have too many of their assets tied up in their home, they're just dealing with very high rental prices. "Getting fucked by the housing crisis" is probably a more apt term of art for this scenario than house poor.

  • Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress
  • Appreciate that dwarf fortress is an 18 year old game. They first released it in 2006 and even then the interface was clunky and never a priority. It is a dwarf simulation engine first and an interactive game second.

RimWorld owes its existence to Dwarf Fortress the way Halo owes its existence to Doom, or World of Warcraft owes its existence to RuneScape. Dwarf Fortress is the precursor for all games like RimWorld. So comparing their interfaces will always set Dwarf Fortress up to lose, just like if you compared the controls in Halo against the original Doom. I think you have to approach Dwarf Fortress more like playing a piece of gaming history, and a look into the world of a very interesting human, Tarn Adams, rather than a modern game competing against modern titles.

  • [Solved] Help wanted
  • Have you looked up settings for this new resin? Or run calibration test prints with it? If you're using the settings for the old resin with a different kind of resin it won't be right. It looks like your exposure time is too low, the resin isn't being cured enough at each layer so it's not adhering. Bump up the exposure time a lot and see if anything comes out. Also bump support thickness and connection thickness up. You can see the supports not even making full connection with that spear in the photo.

  • Is my art good enough to get commissions? I did these for free for people to get a portfolio going
  • I'll be the one to give honest feedback, no, this art is not up to the level of commission work. Practice shading, sketching figures, and composition. Take some painting classes and watch videos on composition and shading. Like most crafts, it will take a great deal of hard work and practice to advance your skills to the level where others will pay you for them.

First sketch the anatomy of the figure, then add details, then add color, shading and highlights. If you start with just coloring it in you will end up with unrealistic figures and proportions, as you have here, which will never transition to the higher quality portraits you are thinking of selling because you're not starting with good fundamentals. Bolster your passion for art with a foundation in the true skills so that when you practice, you're improving in the right way.

  • Recommendations for STL sculpting tools or guides (FLOSS preferred)
  • I use blender for editing STLs. Import your files, overlay them where you want them, select both objects, apply the boolean to subtract differences. This should cut the images out of the disc as a negative. Export as STL.

  • Simple freedom car for pensioners?
  • A car with the ability to lock down the interface for children/elderly probably does not exist.

I would check out the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet bolt if those are available.

Dealers are always going to try to talk you out of buying an EV from them. They make their money doing maintenance and oil changes on cars they sell, EVs have no maintenance, so they see them as bad for business. You have to pick out the exact car you want on their lot, write down the VIN number, then go in and tell them that is the car you want to buy. If they try to switch you up just start walking out. Be firm.

First Votann Hearthkyn squad for my Ymyr Army

My first squad complete. I loved this new squat range as soon as I saw them. I'm going for a very high (for me at least) painting standard for the army, at least three touches for each element.

Mixed in some 3d printed bits, notably the helmet and shield for the Theyn. Any good dorf unit needs a stout shield up front. Also a frying pan for the squad cook.

There are a few things I'll tweak for future units. I'll simplify the scheme a little, stop picking out the elbow and knee pads in black and stop picking out the boot straps in leather. Unnecessary details that took a long time for a unit of 10. I'll ease back on the scratches on the white armor paint and decals, although I like the way the chipping came out.

PS Lemmy please support photo albums!

How to make sourdough without messing with starter every day?

I enjoy making sourdough, but I don't want to make it every week. I would like to make it maybe once a month if that. I don't like the hassle of feeding a starter constantly, it doesn't feel worth it when I'm only making sourdough every once in a while.

Is there an alternative to maintaining a starter? I've tried throwing the starter in the fridge but I'm so lazy it just becomes a little cup of mold by the time I take it out two months later.

Many thanks for your wisdom oh Bread Lemmies.

Back button on browser goes back two pages

Browsing lemmy.world in a browser. I am on page 3 of my feed. I open a post, read it, and press the back button on the browser to return where I left off in the feed. However, instead of taking me back to where I was on page 3, the back button takes me somewhere on page 2. So Everytime I want to go back to the main feed from a post, I have to click back and then scroll to the bottom and click next page then scroll to find where I left off.

How do I fix this? Thank you.
