So, SotO is just a bit more than a month away!
Previously, I would go and collect more HP than my characters need before the expac, so I can unlock new spec asap.
But as far as we know - specs are no more and pre-expac hero point collection is pointless (haha).
So, is there anything else to do righ now? What are your goals to achieve before SotO?
I'm not doing anything special, I'm actually waiting for tomorrow blog post before I decide if I'll buy the new xpac or not, depending on how they answer to the legendary runes issue.
Good call!
I still can't believe they seemingly "forgot" that leg runes existed. Two of my friends actually just finished their leg runes a month before expac announcement. They are very bitter right now (and rightfully so).
Yeah I can't believe it either, someone on the official forums speculated it could be just a case of extremely poor internal communication, meaning devs probably did plan something about it but that info didn't reach community managers, I hope that's the case, we'll find out soon enough.
I'm very salty myself lol, not only I have all 7 runes but I also made the sigils, with the specific purpose of not having to grind gear upgrades ever again and not cluttering my inventory/bank with them.
I'm kinda in the same boat (hence the question).
I'm still interested in the story (the set up fir the expac looks promising to me) and more fractals/strikes are always a welcome addition. But because I've played for so long already, I have a lot in account value - and it's hard to get excited.
I want to finish my second Conflux and then I'll start hoarding materials and gold for the open world legendary armor (since they're bound to use at least some existing materials)
I’m actually just trying to finish the stories, so I’m ready to continue it, once SotO comes out. I just don’t think I’ll make it in time for release, as I’m still missing some of PoF and the whole of EoD 😅
Ooh! Yeah, that's a lot😂
Do not remeber how long it took me to get through PoF, but it took me and my bf around 3 evenings to get through EoD on launch. So it's not too long (but of course, it depends on how much time you have to spare every single day).
I finally finished up Aurora, and Vision, and Coalescence. So I am desperate for gold. I'm working on conflux so I can swap stats and new builds easily whatever theory crafting comes up.
I'm gathering Jade Runestones. Im speculating less people will be on those maps after the release, other than alt parking. I gather about 5 a day. With less people in the EoD they might be more valuable post release?
I should probably do more or the EoD metas too.
I'm working on my WvW skirmish chests and holding those for however many points I'll need.
Otherwise running fractals for gold.
If I had time I would run the HoT metas too because based on their answer-no-answer the legendary runes will have some part to do with the new system they designed around relics.
Just gathering resources and whatever I can. Also Mystic coins. They might try to alleviate their value by adding a new legendary item, like ASS, but that's unknown and all speculation. Mystic coins have gone up a bit already.
I'm trying to complete meta achievements for all EoD maps and story journal episodes.
I also started doing fractals again after a long break. A little gold in the bank will buy me some of the new shineys. As part of restarting fractals I'm making it my goal to be decent at all roles again (1 alac, 1 quick, 1 cdps, and 1 pdps) because the only instances I've hung out in for the last year are strikes and I have been in healer-jail for CM runs.
Doing the usual chores I enjoy most because frankly, I'm not anymore interested or invested in since end of S4. After EoD I don't expect they can provide any good and mature enough content. Say whatever you like but I find EoD being extremely childish and bland with its story line and characters. Not mention the resources hogs like New Kaineng or any EoD strike that loads whole map copy instead of slice of it.
I'm afraid that the changes and new stuff they announced will remain untested until the release day and it will take another 6 or 12 months to bring everything up to the useful stage aka fix things they shouldn't touch in the first place.
