Those little ones take faar too long to pick. Dense little shrubs and trying to navigate to the middle with scissors is a PITA. Still don't really know what they are. Probably birdseye but they taste different to the shop ones.
And finally full sized habs (and hot af) unlike last year.
Edit.. ooh looks like they've changed the forecast... ouch.
Hope the organisers of moomba have thought about cooling stations / misting spots.
Morning all. One of my favourite people resigned at work and today is her last day ๐ข Elder minipeeler has started therapy but is still not going to school ๐ Miniest has decided today she is joining him, and I didn't have the time or energy to argue about it ๐คฌ๐ Old friend is in Australia for a week and is coming over for dinner tomorrow night ๐ Managed to get a load of washing done because I wasn't trying to get kids ready for school ๐
๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ ffs I was meant to call and cancel that dodgy newspaper thing, but I forgot to and they charged me 18 dollars for it. That's not that much, but I literally just signed up to read a single article, which wasn't even a free trial they still charged me like 2 dollars for it. :/
They don't even give you a heads up, hell, not even a courtesy "wait until days end", they take their fee at exactly midnight, and that's the end of it. Absolute scumbags.
On the plus side, if anybody has any articles you want from the Wimmera mail times, hmu and I'll send you the content. Unfortunately there's not even that much content in most of them, it's usually just a couple of sentences about something mundane.
Booked a last minute trip to Hobart as it didnโt feel like I was making the most of my leave unless I got away for a bit of it. Got here today and went to the summit of Mt Wellington. So so beautiful. The city is great too from what Iโve seen, feels like a country town in Victoria. MONA planned for tomorrow.
Slight headache and drowsiness. But got a few loads of washing done, as well as the dishes.
Overall a relatively productive day.
Pasta bake for dinner, which is just leftover pasta in a dish with cheese on top... Which was made from the roast pork and veggies mein liebe made.
Not a single scrap wasted in this house.
She was already improving last night and the crying had stopped. But a day after stopping the antibiotic and starting stronger pain relief + ear drops there's no crying, she's calm, and her appetite is coming back.
She doesn't like the ear drops and generously tries to share them with me by shaking her head. But it's much less traumatic than force feeding her the antibiotics and I know I'm giving her the right care.
The sample the bacteria was identified from was taken right before she got a shot of powerful long acting antibiotics two weeks ago so I'm hoping the uti might have been gone before starting and having to stop the allergenic ones... I'll still be watching carefully because resistance is no joke.

My house is an absolute tip because I decluttered some areas but ran out of energy to keep tidying. I did collect a bunch of stuff that can go though. Might sort it into leftover Coles bags so I can just ask someone to drop them off at the op shop/food pantry
Only one lady on the beach walking her doggo tonight which came up to say hello. But the toasty was long gone all it could do was smell its shadow and look disappointed (the doggo not the lady).
I'm guessing it'll be packed over the w/e but nothing compared to the other side of the bay.
I'm copying a fine art youtuber and it's working. Bright primary colours are turning into muted subtle ones. I don't have a colour wheel and am not swatching but they look close. Mixing little dabs of paint with a toothpick in a paper bowl works too but is pretty awkward. (No palette knife.)
Ps. Melbcat got very excited when I opened the paint tubes. Sounds of plastic? A bowl. Something being opened. 'What are we eating?' To be fair to her I am drinking something from a cup that looks the same as the paint water cup so may actually commit the classic blunder
Let's all just take a moment to imagine the world if that smart bloke never invented the blue LED. Imagine a world where you don't need to put duct tape over your fucking power board because the led is bright enough to light up your entire bedroom at night
I just realised it is a long weekend, I guess I will put off my Monday plans until Tuesday. I'm glad I'll be driving up the Hume tonight and not Friday, long weekend traffic and the swarms of jet skis can be a bit of a hassle.
So I decided to do more work at home this evening to lighten what I have to do tomorrow, for the first time Iโve been allowed to work from home.
I could endure another hour or so tonight and then Iโll have nothing at all to do tomorrow and can just relax or do I just save the work for tomorrow?
The plastic tray of water I put out for wildlife keeps drying up and blowing away. I don't have a rock to weight it and don't want to put anything non-disposable out because it will be stolen. I'll look for the crappy plastic pet water dispenser because it's apparently going to be a hot weekend.
I've loaded some Coles bags up with 9 tins of the wet food Melbcat doesn't like for the food pantry, plus 2 dented cans of the one she does. It feels like wasting food but if she won't eat it maybe some other cat with a struggling owner can. Also gifted hygiene/toiletries that have sat there unopened because I don't use them.
