It’s good to separate this celebratory killings, or professional killings, or accidental killings, or the many other types of killings with firearms in america. I’m not sure why, but it seems important.
- Is it unreasonable to want to know why the shooting happened?
  
  It's because they had access to guns. Case closed. Wake me up for the next one.
- Because if you separate them out, it makes it look less bad.
  I mean still awful, but less bad.
- It's so everyone else can see how much higher our score is in any given category.
Advanced countries don't carry guns all the time.

- In the US we need to differentiate between the Taxi Driver/Columbine variety from the "why I oughtta" variety.
  
  The bullets do not differentiate.
  The people that got hurt & even died from getting trampled as people shoved to get away from the active mass shooting event did not differentiate either.
  
  And it's so stupid. As if the reason for a mass shooting matters.

@Wilshire Americans seem to be relatively unpurturbed by these incidents. They are a familiar part of US culture now.
- I feel like I'm one of the only ones who still is. Every time I read one of these stories I feel horrible. And I read them every day.
  
  @FlyingSquid In the not too distant future, being shot dead will be as common as catching a cold in the US.
  
  Many, many of us are. The popular “America bad” narrative certainly makes it feel like you’re alone but you are definitely not.

The argument: “What do you mean guns shouldn’t be a part of the American identity?!”
USA is the least safe of highly developed economies.
