Just replace it with a coat hanger, now your circuit will never break.
Or a bullet for an audible fuse.
Don't know if it's also for the old ones but modern breakers one more layer of safety that won't let power through if you hold it.

Thats an older GE breaker I think. In my experience probably 2% of the ones I get are crap tbh. Easy fix though, just swap it. I see stuff like this a lot, either it won't switch off or trip correctly or just dies.

It must be, every time I've ever had a problem with electricity if you look back far enough it was an electrician that set it up. Coincidence? I think not
They forgot to say "Hold on to your butts" before flipping it. That's the problem.
