Productivity summit ends with treasurer signalling tax reforms

Perhaps the most significant shift was broad agreement on a future road user charge — a reform long seen as inevitable as fuel excise revenue shrinks with the uptake of electric and more efficient vehicles.
So... The productivity commission has broadly agreed to increase the tax on more efficient electric vehicles.
- Does it say it won't be applied to ICE vehicles too?
- It works even better when truncated.

  I'm fine with the productivity commission suggesting taxes on unproductive or inefficient things.
- Not raise, but bring up to levels road users were previously paying.
  Road maintenance doesn't stop being required just because you've stopped burning oil.
  Road users should pay to use the road (it's not even the full price of the road, and the money goes towards tax revenue, unlike our stupid toll roads)
This Productivity Summit is such a stitch up to increase the taxes on those that can least afford it.
Specifically by raising GST.
