Pretty sure atheists are smart enough to realize video games are a work of fiction, just like gods.
I'd hope most are smart enough to realize this is a joke.
Nice avatar!
Honestly, it's not a very good one. Just being honest...
Oh, I got the joke. I just think my joke was as funny. Nice to see it went over your head as much as you think yours did with me.
id also like to believe most atheists are smart enough to notice this is a joke
I am not smart enough to read other comments before I say the same thing, though.
A piece of fantasy referencing old mythology (fantasy).
God of War is a fanfic.
Kratos becomes the ultimate atheist. Becomes a god, and doesn't believe in himself.
It's the same weirdness when some (usually) Christian Americans think it's a gotcha when an atheist says "omg".
I hope they bring that same energy to themselves when they live by the weekdays that were all named after Norse gods or refer to the other planets in the solar system by the names they were given from the Roman gods.
Omg did you just say WEDNESDAY? You believe in Odin, huh?
Okay weird coincidence. I was at a park tonight trying not to mind my own business (there were food trucks) and I was right behind this lady and her son. She kept bugging him that he wasn't really atheist because he kept saying 'oh my god' and he kept saying oh my god mom drop it and they seemed to be having a good time bickering. Anyways I finally had to pipe up "oh your god I think he knows if he's an atheist".
I'd like to think he's saying "oh your god" now too.
The best thing about God of War is ripping up GODS!!! Just sad Christianity is monotheism. Would love to see what Kratos would do to Jesus.
Just sad Christianity is monotheism.
Depending on one's definition of deity and the importance or reverence angels receive in a given denomination, the claim of Christianity being monotheistic isn't necessarily true.
Guess that's true. You could easily rip up the saints, Moses, biblical characters. The opportunities are endless I guess!
and the whole trinity concept.
Jesus would just turn the other cheek. Jahweh could be interesting though.
Jesus would just turn the other cheek.
The upstairs cheek or the downstairs cheek?
The war god that cast out the other gods out of his pantheon?
Would love to see what Kratos would do to Jesus.
🤭 I'm sure there's Rule34 of that somewhere.
Iirc Kratos is human, not god, and he's killing god for revenge. If anything Kratos is THE atheist.
Actually, he's rather an antitheist.
I thought he became a god at some point in the original series.
IIRC he was the son of Zeus, so a demigod, and became a full god.
Imagine how boring the gaming world would be, if the IRL existence of an item is a pre-requisite for creating it in game.
No minecraft, PUBG, palworld, Zelda, lotr, mass effect etc... hell we would lose so much content that you could argue the reverse is actually true (for an item to exist in a game, it must not exist in real life) and it would probably be more accurate. Train and flight Sims would undoubtedly be king in this otherwise bleak hypothetical though, surely.
BRB, creating a character action game called "Science of War"...
...oh right, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance already exists!
Joke's on you, I played Age of War
It's okay. I killed lots of gods when I played that game.
But that means they existed for you to have killed them!
... although I guess that means they don't exist anymore, so checkmate theists! Now there are no gods!
Atheism is the position that no gods exist. It doesn't say anything about them never having existed... that was a joke I'm not looking to argue
