Trump's moves toward taking over Washington are unprecedented. Here's what the law says

President Donald Trump took unprecedented steps toward federalizing Washington, D.C. on Monday, saying it’s needed to fight crime even as city leaders pointed to data showing violence is down.
Once again, there is no emergency. It's the same tactic that he keeps on using. How is there no requirement to provide evidence of an emergency?
Because the assumption is that the president won't be a fucking dumbass, and will need to utilize the emergency powers immediately, because of an actual imminent threat they can't wait around for approval for.
Sure, and that's why he gets the initial 48 hours, as in the DC case in particular. But that's enough time for Congress to meet and decide whether or not there is actually an emergency. Or it should be.
Let's be honest, he probably has to provide the same level of evidence many state and local governments did when covid was well on its way out but kept the emergency going for political reasons.
Let’s be honest, you’re either being disingenuous about current Covid infection rates, or a moron, because it’s fully endemic now.
COVID deniers are so stupid
And what fucking possible benefit would that be? Did fox news ever tell you what it was all for? Probably not or you'd be regurgitating that with it.
Read a godamn book
I used to want to tolerate people like you that are willfully ignorant but you all have caused so much godamn suffering and still don't even know it. If you had a brain you'd never go outside again because you'd be too fucking ashamed.
