I hate that people on anilist.co gatekeep anime and deny western made shows in the same fucking artstyle
especially when the back and forth interplay has been going on since the 1920s. there is literally no one on earth alive today that remembers a time before western and eastern art were tightly interplaying with eachother
I wish there existed even just 10% as much western animation as eastern one, it feels like it really died out apart from the occasional gems but maybe I'm just following it enough.
I feel like the volume of quality shows is somewhat similar, but the volume of overall is definitely heavily skewed towards eastern animation.
oh i can recomment Scott Pilgrim, Carmen Sandiego, and of course Bee and Puppycat. (it's all on netflix btw)
i'm a slut for animations. i love them so sooo much.
are all great.
Just like with games and gameplay/graphics, if the story/content is good enough the animation is secondary.
I've heard something similar for comedians I think it was something like "if the joke is funny it doesn't matter who told it, if hitler told a genuinely funny joke gabriel iglesias would steal it and try to turn it into a mexican thing."
