I read an article comparing Biden's response to Hurricane Helene and the death toll this caused and trying to equate the 2 incidents. These are nowhere close to the same.
Hurricane Helene
Roughly 250 people confirmed dead across 5 states Florida(population 23.37m), Georgia (population 11.18m), N Carolina (population 11.05m), S Carolina (population 5.48m), and Tennessee (population 7.23m). The total population across the 5 states is 58.31 million people. Math gives us a 0.0429 deaths per 10,000 people due to Hurricane Helene
TX Flooding
Thus far, the flooding is limited to the state of TX alone and mostly Kerr County with a population of roughly 54k people. Roughtly 120 people confirmed dead, and another 160 people still missing gives us a percapita rate of somewhere between 22.22 to 51.85 deaths per 10,000 people.
Comparison
The TX flooding is about 518 to 1209 times worse than the Hurricane Helene response.
I'm not entirely clued in to the situation, but as I walked past a tv yesterday the headline said something like "121 dead in flood, including 24 children. 68 still missing".
So.......trump is celebrating the death of children and others. There's no other way to say this. People died, including children, and trump applauded the outcome.
Or am I missing something? Because I don't think I am.
Oh that's easy. Trump claims that many more would have died if it wasn't for his "wise" leadership. It doesn't matter how many die; he can always claim that more would be dead.
no, your not missing anything much. He says it could have been worse so yay, only ~100+ people died. Which even if texas had taken every reasonable precaution, one death would've been too many. But of course they didn't, and trump doesn't think thats a bad thing,,
so yes, he's celebrating the death of hundred(s)
Still no mention of the lives lost, not to mention what might have been done to avert the tragedy or what might be done to prevent any similar future catastrophes.
I'm trying to remember whether Trump has ever said anything that shows personal regret or a desire for improvement. All I can remember are the few times where he was asked a question along those lines and was completely unable to answer the question.
Reminds me - people started acting like "if Obama did it" was the same as Godwin's Law or something during Taco's first failure of a term, but I think Godwin's Law is over at this point and we should continue to ask ourselves how the qons (and the "liberal media") would have behaved if Obama had congratulated himself on a job well done in this situation...even before all the bodies are counted.
The qons would have lost their minds and been calling him uppity, oops, I mean, "arrogant", like you would not believe....
